Rusher: Using Internet and Geolocation to Promote Tourism

Abstract

This paper analyses many Geolocation based social media application and the recommendation models described in those applications. Furthermore, it studies the socio-economic impact of those applications to propose a new application called Rusher. The application described in this paper is built on JavaScript stack and uses MongoDB backend. Likewise, Google Maps Platform is used to serve location sensitive content to the user. The application allows the users to add custom locations, organize events and review the locations and events. Finally, this paper discusses the design and implementation of Rusher and provides basic usage instructions along with the scope for further development.
