Case Poke-Lampolan muuttaminen hiehokasvattamoksi

Abstract

Pohjoisen Keski-Suomen oppimiskeskuksen (POKE) lampola on rakennettu vuonna 1986.Lampolassa opeteltiin lampaiden hoitamista ja keritsemistä. Vuosien saatossa oppimiskeskus on muuttunut ja toimintaa kehitetty. Lampaita käytettiin ympäristönhoidollisesti saaressa kesäisin, mutta ympäristön muuttuessa ja maatilojen vähentyessä lampaat on otettu tuotannosta pois ja nyt lampolasta suunnitellaan hiehokasvattamoa. POKE investoi uuteen lypsyrobottiin ja aikoo ottaa hiehot pois hiehohotellista. Opetuksellisesti opiskelijat näkevät lypsylehmän elinkaaren vasikasta kestäväksi lypsylehmäksi. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on tehdä toiminnallinen suunnitelma lampolan muuttamisesta hiehokasvattamoksi, jossa keskitytään hiehojen hyvinvointiin, talouteen, rehustukseen, lantaan ja osastointiin. Tutkimuksessa on tarkoitus vertailla oman hiehokasvattamon ja hiehohotellin kustannuksia ja löytää lampolalle myös tulevaisuudessa uusi käyttötarkoitus. Kustannuksissa katsotaan, onko oma hiehohalli edullisempi pitkällä aikavälillä verrattuna hiehohotelliin. Opinnäytetyö on case-tutkimus, joka toteutetaan hakemalla tietoa alan kirjoista, lehtiartikkeleista ja oppaista. Hiehokasvattamon eri vaihtoehdot toimivat Pohjoisen Keski-Suomen ammattiopiston ehdoilla. Tuloksena on viisi eri vaihtoehtoista ratkaisua, joissa on huomioitu kustannukset, pohjapiirrokset, työmenekki, laajennettavuus ja eläinten hyvinvointi.

The sheep barn of POKE Vocational College was built in the 1980’s. People learned to take care of the sheep. Over, the years learning center its changed and operations have been developed. The sheep were used to take care of the environment of one island in summer, because of the changing environment and the decreasing number of farms, sheep farming ended at POKE and. now the sheep barn is planned to be transformed POKE invests in a new milking robot and plans to take the heifers out of the heifer hotel. Pupils will see the life cycle of a cow from calf to a sustainable milking cow. The aim of the study was to make a functional plan of, the transformation of the sheep barn. Where the focus is on heifer’ welfare, economy, feeding, manure and categorization. The purpose was to compare own the costs of the heifer rearing barn to the costs of the heifer hotel and to find a new purpose of use for the sheep barn in the future. From the point of view of costs, it was studied whether the heifer rearing barn is cheaper than the heifer hotel in long term use. The bachelor’s thesis is a case study, where information is searched from books, journal articles and guides in the field. The heifer rearing barn functions work only in POKE Vocational College’s conditions. There are five different results to the sheep barn and point of view of costs, Economy, extensibility, work efficiency and animal welfare
