Ensiapupäivä Raumanmeren peruskoulun 9.-luokkalaisille

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyönä tehdyn projektin tarkoituksena oli suunnitella, toteuttaa ja arvioida Raumanmeren peruskoulun tarpeiden mukainen ensiapupäivä. Tarkoituksena oli opettaa Raumanmeren peruskoulun yhdeksäsluokkalaisia toimimaan oikein yleisimmissä ensiapua vaativissa tilanteissa. Opinnäytetyön projektitehtävänä oli parantaa 9.-luokkalaisten ensiaputaitoja. Projektiluonteinen opinnäytetyö toteutettiin yhteistyössä Raumanmeren peruskoulun kanssa. Projekti toteutettiin siten, että 9.-luokkalaisille järjestettiin kaksi ensiapupäivää. Molempina päivinä ensiapuopetusta oli kahteen otteeseen. Näin jokainen 9.-luokan oppilas pääsi osallistumaan tapahtumaan. Osallistuneita oli yhteensä 150 henkilöä. Projektityönä toteutetut ensiapupäivät järjestettiin Raumanmeren koulun liikuntasalissa ja sen yhteydessä olevissa pukuhuoneissa. Ensiapupäivillä toteutettiin viisi ensiapurastia, jotka olivat hätäilmoituksen tekeminen, tajuttoman ensiapu, verenvuotojen tyrehdyttäminen, peruselvytys ja elvytys -DVD. Nämä aiheet valittiin keväällä 2010 Raumanmeren peruskoululle viedyn alkukartoituskyselyn perusteella. Ensiapuopetusta toteutettiin pienryhmissä teoriaopetuksen ja käytännönharjoituksien avulla. Jokaisessa ensiapurastissa oli oma ohjaaja, jotka olivat sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoita. Oppilaat osoittivat kiinnostusta kyselemällä ja keskittymällä opetettaviin asioihin. Käytännön harjoitukset lisäsivät oppilaiden varmuutta ja rohkeutta toimia ensiaputilanteissa. Ensiapupäivien toteuttaminen lisäsi opinnäytetyöntekijöiden kokemusta opetustilanteiden järjestämisestä. Myös organisointitaidot kehittyivät. Erilaisten ihmisten kanssa työskentely antoi uutta näkökulmaa ja varmuutta toimia sosiaalisissa tilanteissa. Koulun oppilaiden, opettajien ja rehtorin antama positiivinen palaute tuki opinnäytetyön tekijöiden käsitystä päivien onnistumisesta. Saatujen palautteiden perusteella voidaan päätellä, että vastaavanlaisiin ensiapuprojekteihin on kysyntää myös jatkossa.

The First Aid Day for the 9th Grade Students at Raumanmeri School. The goal of this project that was completed as thesis work was to devise, complete and evaluate the First Aid Day for Raumanmeri School according to their needs. The goal of the project was to teach 9th grade students to act appropriately in the most common first aid situations. The project task in this thesis work was to improve the first aid skills of the 9th grade students. The project was done in cooperation with Raumanmeri School. The First Aid Day project was realized by providing two first aid days for one hundred and fifty 9th grade students. Teaching was given twice on each of the two days so that all students could take part in the process. The program was given in the gymnasium and adjacent dressing rooms at Raumanmeri School. The program content was determined by giving a survey at Raumanmeri School in the spring of 2010 and consisted of five first aid stations: calling emergency services, helping an unconscious person, stopping bleeding, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and resuscitation –DVD. First aid methods were taught in small groups with a nursing student providing instruction at each spot. First they were taught the theory and then were given the opportunity to have hands-on practice. Students stayed focused and showed interest by asking questions. The hands-on training increased the confidence of the students so they would be able to take action in emergency situations. The First Aid Day project gave the thesis workers the opportunity to plan teaching situations and helped to improve their organizational skills. Working with different kinds of people also provides the thesis workers with a new perspective and improved their confidence in social situations. The students, teachers and principal from Raumanmeri School gave positive feedback that supported the project worker’s assessment that the First Aid Day was a success. The feedback also indicated that there will be demand for similar projects in the future.
