Nuorten näkemyksiä osallisuudesta Perheryhmäkoti Liekissä

Abstract

Opinnäytetyössä tutkittiin nuorten näkemyksiä osallisuudesta Perheryhmäkoti Liekissä. Tarve tutkimukselle nousi työelämän puolelta. Työn tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa nuorten osallisuuden kokemuksista Perheryhmäkoti Liekille. Tutkimus antaa mahdollisuuden työntekijöille kehittää toimintaansa nuorten osallisuuden lisäämiseksi.

Lastensuojelulain tarkoituksena on turvata lapsen monipuolinen ja tasapainoinen kehitys ja oikeus turvalliseen kasvuympäristöön. Nuorten kanssa tehtävässä työssä on alettu enemmän kiinnittämään huomiota osallistumiseen ja kuulluksi tulemiseen. Nuoret ovat omien asioidensa asiantuntijoita ja heidän osallistamisensa on yksi perusedellytys kasvulle ja kehitykselle.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kvalitatiivisena eli laadullisena tutkimuksena. Kohderyhmämme koostui viidestä 13–17-vuotiaasta Perheryhmäkoti Liekin nuoresta. Keräsimme tutkimusaineiston teemahaastatteluilla ja toteutettiin ne Perheryhmäkoti Liekissä yksilöhaastatteluina. Analysoimme aineiston teorialähtöisellä eli deduktiivisella sisällönanalyysilla. Esitämme tutkimustulokset osallisuuden porrasmallilla, josta selviää nuorten näkemyksiä osallisuuden toteutumisesta Perheryhmäkoti Liekissä. Opinnäytetyömme teoreettisena viitekehyksenä on nuorten osallisuus. Tarkastelimme nuorten osallisuutta tutkimuksessamme lastensuojelun, arjen merkityksen ja nuoren iän- ja kehitystason huomioimisen avulla.

Tutkimustuloksemme osoittivat, miten Perheryhmäkoti Liekin nuoret kokivat tulevansa kuulluksi ja osallisiksi arjen toiminnoissa, sosiaalisissa suhteissa sekä osallistavissa toiminnoissa. Nuorten näkemykset otetaan huomioon yhteisten asioiden suunnittelussa ja päätöstenteossa sekä heillä on mahdollisuus vaikuttaa niihin. Työntekijöiden rooli on keskeisin nuorten osallisuuden toteutumisessa. Nuorella on oikeus tulla kuulluksi ja ilmaista mielipiteensä niin yhteisöä koskevissa asioissa, kuin omien asioiden suunnittelussa ja päätöksien teossa. Tutkimustulosten avulla työntekijät pystyvät kehittämään niin omaa kuin yhteisön toimintaa. Nuoret tulevat tietoisemmaksi heidän mahdollisuuksistaan osallistua ja vaikuttaa omiin sekä yhteisön asioihin.

Project/Partners Family grouphome Liekki The purpose of this thesis was respond to the need which came from working life namely, to study youth experience of participation in Family grouphome Liekki. The aim of the thesis was to provide information about youth experience of participation in Family grouphome Liekki whereby the employees could develop their procedures.

The purpose of the child welfare act is to ensure versatile and stable development and a right for safe growing environment for children. Professionals working with youth have started to pay more attention to participation and being heard. Young people are experts when they are talking about their affairs and making them to participate is one of the basic requirements of personal growth and development.

The thesis was carried out with a qualitative research method. We collected material with theme interviews and we accomplished the interviews individually in Family grouphome Liekki. For analysing the material we used a deductive content analysis method. The research findings are presented with a participation ladder model which shows the youth experience of participation in Family grouphome Liekki. The theoretical framework of our thesis was youth participation. We observed youth participation in our research from the viewpoint of child welfare, the meaning of everyday life and noticing the stage of youth age and development.

Our results show how the youth in Family grouphome Liekki experienced becoming heard and participation in everyday activities, social relationships and activies that make them participate. Youth views are taken into account in planning community affairs and making decisions but also they have an opportunity to affect those things. The employees part is significant for youth participation coming true. It is the right of youth to become heard and express their opinions about affairs which touch the community but also when planning their own affairs and participating in decision making. By using the results of this research the staff of Family grouphome Liekki can develop their own activities as well as those of the community. Youth become more aware of their opportunities to participate and to have an effect on their own as well as the community affairs.
