Itsehoito-oppaan laatiminen virtsainkontinenssipotilaalle : Päijät-Hämeen keskussairaalan naistentautien osasto

Abstract

Hankkeistetun, toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli tuottaa Päijät-Hämeen keskussairaalan naistentautien osastolle oma itsehoito-opas virtsainkontinenssipo-tilaalle. Tavoitteena oli laatia kattava, kohderyhmälle sopiva, selkeä ja johdonmu-kainen opas virtsainkontinenssin itsehoitoon naisille osana opinnäytetyötä. Tavoit-teena oli myös antaa tietoa ja parantaa inkontinenssipotilaiden hyvinvointia elä-mässään sekä kehittää naisten inkontinenssin hoitoa ja oppaan avulla myös helpot-taa naistentautien hoitohenkilökunnan työtä.

Opinnäytetyön teoriaosassa on käsitelty virtsainkontinenssin esiintyneisyyttä, syi-tä, vaikutuksia elämänlaatuun, esiintymis- ja hoitomuotoja. Teoriaosassa on lisäksi käsitelty potilasohjausta terveyden edistämisen näkökulmasta sekä hyvän oppaan kriteerejä.

Itsehoito-oppaan sisältö on laadittu naistentautien osaston toiveiden mukaisesti ja sitä ovat arvioineet Päijät-Hämeen keskussairaalan naistentautien osaston inkon-tinessivastaava sairaahoitaja, osastonhoitaja ja ylilääkäri sekä opinnäytetyötämme ohjaava opettaja.

This thesis was conducted as a functional project in collaboration with the Central Hospital of Päijät-Häme’s gynecological ward. The purpose of this thesis was to produce a self-treatment guide for urinary incontinence patients. The objective was to compile a comprehensive and clear guide of the self-treatment of urinary incontinence. The guide was designed to be easy to understand and suitable for the target group. The aim was also to spread information and improve the welfare of urinary incontinence patients, as well as to develop the treatment of women with urinary incontinence and with the help of the guide to ease the work of the staff on the gynecological ward. In the theoretical part of our thesis we reviewed incidences and causes of urinary incontinence and its effects on the quality of life. We also go through the different forms of incontinence and its treatment. We are viewing patients’ guidance from the perspective of promoting good health and also the criterion of a good guide-book. The contents of the guidebook is constructed to fulfill the needs of the gynecolog-ical ward. The contents has been evaluated by the nurse who is in charge of urinary incontinence, head nurse and head of ward and the teacher who was tutoring our thesis.
