Ennakkotehtävä skitsofreniasta sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoille

Abstract

Hankkeen tarkoituksena on luoda ennakkotehtävä skitsofreniasta sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoille. Ennakkotehtävän tavoitteena on johdattaa opiskelijat skitsofrenia-aiheeseen. Tehtävän kysymysten avulla kartoitetaan opiskelijoiden tietotasoa ja autetaan opiskelijoita tiedostamaan omat asenteensa skitsofreniaa kohtaan. Ennakkotehtävään laaditut vastaukset antavat opiskelijoille tutkittua tietoa skitsofreniasta. Skitsofrenia on vakava mielenterveyshäiriö, joka alkaa tyypillisesti nuoruusiässä. Skitsofrenia johtaa usein syrjäytymiseen, naimattomuuteen, alhaiseen sosiaaliseen asemaan ja varhaiseen eläköitymiseen. Psykiatrinen sairaus on altis leimaantumiselle ja siihen liittyy usein ennakkoluuloja.

Ennakkotehtävä toteutettiin yhteistyössä Lahden ammattikorkeakoulun mielenterveysopintojen opettajan kanssa. Ennakkotehtävän laatimiseksi suoritettiin kysely sosiaali- ja terveysalan opiskelijoille, joista suurin osa oli sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoita. Kyselyn tuloksia käytettiin apuna ennakkotehtävän kysymysten suunnittelussa. Laajan teoriatiedon pohjalta laadittiin ennakkotehtävän kysymykset sekä vastauk-set. Ennakkotehtävä testattiin pienellä testiryhmällä kysymysten ja vastausten ymmärrettävyyden ja yksiselitteisyyden varmistamiseksi. Ennakkotehtävää muo-kattiin testiryhmältä saadun palautteen perusteella ja toteutetaan verkossa Webropol-ohjelmalla.

Ennakkotehtävä voidaan ottaa käyttöön heti sen valmistuttua marraskuussa 2010. Mielenterveysopintojen opettajien on tarkoitus hyödyntää ennakkotehtävää eräänä opetusmuotona käytettävän pbl-opetuksen yhteydessä. Ennakkotehtävän avulla on mahdollista muokata mielenterveysopintojen toteutusta opiskelijoiden tarpeita vastaavaksi.

The purpose of this project was to create a pre-exercise of schizophrenia for nursing students. The objective of the pre-exercise is to guide students in schizophrenia-topic. The pre-exercise helps survey the knowledge of students and helps them realize their own attitudes towards schizophrenia. The answers to the pre-exercise give students realistic information about schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder that typically begins in adolescence. Schizophrenia often leads to social exclusion, unmarried life, low social status and early retirement. This psychiatric disorder is prone to social stigma and it is often associated with prejudice.

Pre-exercise will be carried out with the teacher of mental health studies of Lahti University of Applied Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Health Care. Before making the pre-exercise a questionnaire to social- and health care students, most of them nursing students, was carried out. The questions and answers of the pre-exercise were made with the help of the questioning results and a comprehensive theory. The pre-exercise was tested in a small group of people. The test showed whether the questions and answers were understood correctly and unambiguously. The pre-exercise was modified based on the feedback of the group. It will be car-ried out on the network by Webropol-program.

The pre-exercise can be introduced as soon as it is completed in November 2010. Teachers of mental health studies are meant to take advantage of it in PBL-teaching, which is one instruction method. The pre-exercise makes it possible to modify the implementation of mental health studies that students need.
