Hygieniakartoitus-projekti Pappilanlammen palvelukeskuksessa

Abstract

Tämän projektiluontoisen opinnäytetyön aiheena oli kartoittaa Pappilanlammen palvelukeskuksen henkilökunnan käsihygieniaosaamista ja tuottaa hygienian ohjaus- ja opetuskansio Pappilanlammen palvelukeskuksen henkilökunnalle. Projektiin sisältyi myös hygienian ohjaus- ja opetuskansion arviointi henkilökunnan näkökulmasta. Projektin päätarkoituksena oli edistää terveyttä ja ohjata Pappilanlammen palvelu-keskuksen henkilökuntaa toteuttamaan hyvää käsihygieniaa sekä hyviä hygieniakäytäntöjä.

Pappilanlammen palvelukeskuksen henkilökunta toivoi hygienian ohjekansiota, koska heillä ei vielä ollut sellaista. Toimeksiantajalla oli selkeä tarve hygienian ohjaus- ja opetuskansiolle ja työ toivottiin tehtävän opinnäytetyönä. Hygienian ohjaus- ja opetuskansion toteutuksen apuna käytettiin kyselyä, jonka avulla selvitettiin henkilö-kunnan (N=36) tietämystä käsihygieniasta. Vastausprosentti oli 75 %. Tulokset ana-lysoitiin tilastollisesti Excel-taulukkolaskentaohjelmalla. Avoin kysymys hygienian ohjaus- ja opetuskansion sisällöstä analysoitiin sisällönanalyysiä käyttäen.

Vastaajista 88 % oli osallistunut hygieniakoulutukseen. Tuloksissa ilmeni, että vastaajien käsien pesu saippualla ja vedellä on yleistä. Käsien pesun suosio saattaa johtua siitä, että työntekijöistä 38 % ajatteli käsien pesun olevan edelleen tehokkaampi tapa poistaa mikrobeja käsistä, kuin käsien desinfiointi. Vastaajista lähes puolet arvioi käsihuuhteen käytön heikentävän käsien ihon kuntoa. Suurin osa kertoi käsiensä ihon kunnon olevan hyvä.

Käsihygieniakyselyn tuloksien pohjalta toteutettiin hygienian ohjaus- ja opetuskansio. Kansio sisälsi tietoa ja ohjeita käsihygieniasta, suojakäsineistä, eritetahradesin-fektiosta, aseptisesta työjärjestyksestä, aseptiikan huomioimisesta lääkkeiden jaossa sekä neulojen ja terävien esineiden käsittelystä. Työntekijät arvioivat kansion olevan tarpeellinen ja sisällöltään selkeä. Kansio liitettiin Pappilanlammen palvelukeskuksen perehdytysoppaaseen.

The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the knowledge of hand hygiene at the Service Center of Pappilanlampi, and based on that to develop a hygiene teaching and guiding file for the staff. The project also included an assessment of the hygiene guide from the employees’ viewpoint. The main objective of this project was to enhance health at Service Center of Pappilanlampi by guiding the personnel to perform correct hand hygiene and correct hygiene habits.

The idea came from the Service Center of Pappilanlampi. The staff had wished for a hygiene guide since they did not have one. The consigner had a clear need for a guidance and teaching file of hand hygiene and they hoped it would be created through a final thesis. The guide was developed by conducting a survey (N=36), which measured employees’ hand hygiene knowledge. Response rate was 75 %. The results were statistically analyzed with Excel spreadsheet program, and an open question relating to the content of the hand hygiene file was analyzed by content analysis method.

88 % of the respondents had participated in hygiene training. The results revealed that it was common to wash hands with soap and water. The reason for this may be that 38% of the interviewees considered hand washing more effective in removing microbes than hand disinfectant. Almost half of answerers believed that hand disinfection deteriorated skin, while majority thought their hand skin to be in good condition.

The hygiene survey’s results gave a base for the guidance and teaching file of hand hygiene. The file contained advices and information about hand hygiene, protective gloves, excretory product infections, aseptic techniques, cognizance of asepticism while dispensing drugs, and work with cutting items and needles. The staff considered that this hygiene teaching and guiding file was necessary and its content clear. The file was affixed to the orientation guide at Service Center of Pappilanlampi.
