Tiivistelmä
The basic goal of the whole publication is to look at the 17 sustainable goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 agenda for sustainable development in cities. In particular, goal 11 states "Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Cities are hubs for ideas, commerce, culture, science, productivity, social development and much more."
The authors of the publication are students from the Master of Science degree Construction and Real Estate Management programme given jointly by the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Helsinki (Finland) and the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW-Berlin, Germany).
The students have come all over the world to study in Europe, to start their professional lives either in design or construction of the built environment. They have not hesitated to jump centuries of development to explore urban development of cities, with thought provoking ideas and contemporary debates. Contents of this publication are examples of their competences. In addition, also the layout of the publication is made by students.
The publication is edited by Mr. Eric Pollock, architect, who works as a lecturer in Metropolia UAS.
The publication is the Part II of the Sustainable Cities -book series. The first part was published in 2018: URN:ISBN:978-952-328-090-8.
