Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytteen tavoite oli tutkia mahdollisuuksia siirtää osa B to B asiakkaiden luona käyvien myyntiedustajien fyysisistä käynneistä verkkoon.
The goal of the thesis was to study possibilities to move physical visits made by sales rep-resentatives to B to B customers to online video meetings. With the study aimed at peo-ple working in the procurement tried to clarify factors supporting physical customer visits and also factors, which supported transferring visits to be held as video meetings at net-work. Additionally, the thesis investigated reasons, why the video meetings have not become common. To reach the goal, a half structured qualitative theme interviews were performed. The interviews were informal, and they were performed as recorded phone interviews. The theoretical framework related to B to B sales, personal sale and its role as a competition tool of marketing communication. Additionally, digital customer experi-ence and electronic applications in distance selling and negotiations were also related to the theoretical framework.
As a result of the study were got opinions from people working at procurement organiza-tions, as well as observations of sales representatives physical visits, need of the visits and possibility to transfer part of the visits to network. From the results were also found reasons why the video meetings have not become common in B to B. Saturation was found already in the third interview at many themes of the interview. Conclusions of the research were that physical visits are well justified, when products are presented. Trans-ferring the sales representatives visits or part of them to the internet was supported clearly by the saving of time. This became clear in all interviews. Some physical visits were deemed unnecessary and no sufficient was received compared to the time spent. The study also showed that one major reason, why the video meetings have not become common in B to B sales is the fear of non-functioning technology and connections and doubts of one`s ability to use for example Skype.
