Posti- ja tiedostojakelupalvelimen asennus ja käyttöönotto

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli posti- ja tiedostojakelupalvelimen asennus ja käyttöönotto. Postipalvelimeksi valittiin uusin Microsoft Exchange eli Exchange Server 2010 -palvelin. Tiedostojakelupalvelimena käytettiin myös uusinta Microsoft Sharepoint -palvelinta eli Sharepoint Server 2010 -palvelinta. Alustaksi posti- ja tiedostojakelupalvelimelle valittiin Windows Server 2008 R2 -käyttöjärjestelmä.

Työn ensimmäisessä vaiheessa kerättiin tietoa ohjelmistojen teknisistä vaatimuksista ja suunniteltiin työ tämän pohjalta. Tämän jälkeen aloitettiin itse toteutus, joka oli suurin osa projektia. Tarkoituksena oli saada posti- ja tiedostojakelupalvelin käyttökuntoon. Palvelimille oli tarkoitus saada organisaatiokohtaiset asetukset, joita pystyy tarvittaessa muuttamaan.

Tärkeimmät postipalvelimen ominaisuudet olivat web-käyttöliittymä, jolla käyttäjät voivat kirjautua sähköpostiin selaimella, sekä tuki postien vastaanottoon ja lähetykseen postiohjelmilla, kuten Microsoft Office Outlook. Postipalvelimen varmenteet eli sertifikaatit oli myös tarkoitus laittaa julkisille verkkosivuille. Tärkeimpänä ominaisuutena toimivuuden jälkeen oli postitietokantojen varmennukset, jotka toteutettiin monelle eri tavalla.

Tiedostojakelupalvelimelle oli tarkoitus saada toimimaan uudet web-sovellukset ja näiden sivustokokoelmat. Verkkosivujen varmenteet eli sertifikaatit oli myös tärkeä osa. Verkkosivut ja näiden sivustokokoelmien varmennukset tuli myös toteuttaa.

Tarvittavat palvelut saatiin toimimaan mutta jatkokehitykselle jäi varaa. Projektia pystyy jatkokehittämään ottamalla käyttöön uusia palveluita ja lisäämällä palvelinten määrää.

The topic of this final year project was mail and file distribution server installation and commissioning. The purpose was to get the mail and file distribution server for production use.

The project was implemented with Exchange Server 2010 and Sharepoint Server 2010. The base operating system used in the project was Windows Server 2008 R2. First, technical information and hardware requirements were searched for the used software. After collecting the information, began the actual implementation of the project which was the largest part of it. The servers had to be configured with organization specific settings. The user had to be able to modify those settings if necessary.

The most important functional properties of the Mail Server were part of the user web interface. It allows users to log onto e-mail through the website, as well as supports mail sending and receiving mail programs such as Office Outlook. the mail server will use third party certificates on a public website. A further important characteristic about performance was post database verifications, which were carried out in various ways.

The file distribition server was designed to act as a Web Application server, which also maintains Site Collections. Website certificates were also important in this particular case. With this server, users can choose a secure website, or an unsecured connection. Verifications on web sites and site collections were also set.

As a result, necessary services operate as planned. There is still scope for further development. The project can be developed by introducing new services and by increasing the number of servers.
