Asukastyytyväisyyden toteutuminen kehitysvammaisten tehostetun palveluasumisen yksikössä

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää, kuinka hyvin asukastyytyväisyys toteutuu opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana olleessa kehitysvammaisten tehostetun palveluasumisen yksikössä. Opinnäytetyössä selvitettiin, vastaavatko asumisyksikön tilat ja palvelut asukkaiden tarpeita ja toteutuvatko yksikön asukkaiden itsemääräämisoikeus sekä osallisuus asumisyksikön arjessa. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tarjota tietoa tehostetun palveluasumisen yksikön henkilökunnalle asukastyytyväisyyden toteutumisesta yksikössä, jotta toimintaa voidaan kriittisesti tarkastella ja tarvittaessa kehittää.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kvalitatiivisen tutkimuksen keinoin. Opinnäytetyön aineisto kerättiin tehostetun palveluasumisen yksikön asukkailta teemahaastatteluilla. Haastattelutilanteessa oli mukana asumisyksikön henkilökunnan edustaja ja tarvittaessa puhetulkki. Jokainen asumisyksikön asukas sai halutessaan osallistua opinnäytetyöhön. Kerätty aineisto analysoitiin teemoittelemalla aineisto ennalta määriteltyjen haastatteluteemojen sekä aineistosta esiin nousseiden tekijöiden perusteella.

Opinnäytetyön tulosten perusteella asukkaat pitävät tehostetun palveluasumisen yksikköä hyvänä paikkana asua. Asukkaat kokevat fyysisen ympäristön viihtyisäksi ja esteettömäksi, ja palveluihin sekä henkilökunnan toimintaan ollaan tyytyväisiä. Myös asumisyksikön arkeen on selvityksen tulosten mukaan mahdollisuus vaikuttaa. Selvityksessä nousi kuitenkin esiin myös joitakin yksittäisiä asioita, joihin asukkaat eivät olleet tyytyväisiä. On tärkeää, että jatkossa asukkaiden yksilölliset toiveet huomioidaan asumisyksikön jokapäiväisessä arjessa, ja että asukastyytyväisyyttä seurataan säännöllisesti luotettavin menetelmin.

The purpose of this thesis was to find out how well residential satisfaction is realized in an intensive service housing unit for people with intellectual disabilities. This thesis examined whether the facilities and services of the housing unit meet the requirements of the residents and whether the residents’ right to self-determination and right to have an impact on matters concerning everyday life in the residential unit are realized. The aim of this thesis was to provide the staff of the housing unit information on how well residential satisfaction is realized so that the operations of the unit can be critically examined and improved if necessary.

The thesis was carried out by means of qualitative research. The material for the thesis was collected by using a semi-structured theme interview. A staff member from the housing unit was present in every interview and some interviews required the services of an interpreter. Every resident was offered an opportunity to be interviewed. The collected material was analyzed thematically utilizing predetermined interview themes and other themes that emerged from the material.

Based on the results of this thesis, the residents see the housing unit as a good place to live. The residents describe their physical surroundings as comfortable and accessible. Residents are satisfied with services of the housing unit and staff performance. The residents also feel that they are able to affect everyday life in the housing unit. However, there were also some individual issues that the residents were not satisfied with. It is important that in the future the residents’ individual wishes are taken into consideration in everyday life and that residential satisfaction is regularly evaluated with reliable methods.
