Työn vaikutus maatalousyrittäjän terveyteen : Maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon hyödyn kokeminen

Abstract

Opinnäytetyössä tutkittiin maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltoon liittymättömyyttä ja mikä vaikuttaisi liittymiseen. Opinnäytetyössä selvitettiin viljelijöiden näkökulmia työn vaikutuksesta terveyteen ja maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon vaikuttavuutta. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on, että tietoa voidaan käyttää maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltopalveluiden ja markkinoinnin kehittämiseen. Tutkimus on laadullinen, sen aineisto kerättiin teemahaastattelulla. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisellä sisällönanalyysillä. Tutkimukseen osallistuneet maatalousyrittäjät poimittiin satunnaisesti Maatalousyrittäjien eläkelaitoksen (Melan) rekisteristä, mukaan otettiin viisi pohjois-savolaisista maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltoon kuulumatonta maatalousyrittäjää.

Tutkimustulosten mukaan maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltoa pidettiin tärkeänä, jos sen palvelut koettiin toimiviksi. Tutkimuksesta tuli esille, että etenkin maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon lääkäreiden saatavuutta tulisi parantaa. Lisäksi maatalousyrittäjät toivoivat, että maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollossa ymmärrettäisiin paremmin maataloustyötä. Tulosten mukaan maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon ja lomituspalveluiden yhteistyötä tulisi lisätä, jotta sairastapauksissa lomittajan saanti helpottuisi. Tämän yhteistyön toimivuuden myötä maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltopalvelut saatettaisiin kokea hyödyllisiksi. Tuloksista tuli esille myös, että maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon kautta toivottiin pääsyä tarvittaessa kuntoutukseen tai jatkotutkimuksiin.

Mela voi käyttää tutkimustuloksia kehittäessään maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltoa ja sen markkinointia. Tutkimus auttaa ymmärtämään maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltoon kuulumattomien viljelijöiden käsityksiä maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuoltopalveluista sekä maatalousyrittäjien käsityksiä työn vaikutuksesta terveyteen ja maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon hyötyä työn terveydellisiin vaikutuksiin. Tutkimustuloksia voivat hyödyntää työterveyshuollon parissa toimivat ammattilaiset. Jatkotutkimusaiheena voisi selvittää maatalousyrittäjien työterveyshuollon ammattilaisten näkökulmasta palveluiden toimivuutta ja kehittämistä.

The purpose of the thesis was to study the not joining of farmers’ to occupational health care and what affects their joining. The purpose of this study was to find out from a farmers’ viewpoint the effect of work on the farmers’ health and effectiveness of the farmers’occupational health. The aim of this study was to use the gained facts in the development of the farmers’occupational health services and marketing. The method of this study was qualitative. The material was collected by theme interview. The answers were analysed by an inductive content analysis. There were five farmers in this study, who don’t belong to farmers’ occupational health care. The participants were chosen from the farmers’ Social Insurance Institution.

The results of the study showed that farmers’ occupational health care is important if the services can be seen to be as being functional. The availability of the occupational health doctors’ should be enhanced. In addition the farmers’ wished for that occupational care health care would understand better farm work.. The results show that co-operation between occupational health care and farm relief work services should be increased, so that in the event of illness the getting of a relief worker would be easier. A functioning co-operation of this kind could contribute to the services of the farmers occupational health care being seen as useful. Results also showed that when needed farmers wished for access to rehabilitation and follow-up care through the farmers occupational health care.

The Farmers’ Social Insurance Institution can utilize the results while developing farmers’ health care and its marketing. The thesis also helps understand the conception of farmers’ health care services as well as the farmers’ viewpoints of the effect of work on a farmers’ health of farmers’ who don’t’ belong to farmers’ health care. The results can be utilized by people who are working in the midst of farmers’ occupational health care. It would be interesting in the future to study how the people in the farmers’ occupational health view the functionality and development of the services.
