Veistoksellisuus korussa ja sen hyödyntäminen sisustuksessa

Abstract

Työssä pohditaan korun ja veistoksen suhdetta ja korun roolia sisustuksessa. Tavoitteena oli löytää moderni tapa liittää koru sisustukseen ja tuoda korulle siten uusia käyttömahdollisuuksia. Korun luonnetta avataan modernin korun historian ja korutaiteen määritelmien kautta. Korujen asemaa kotona selvitettiin keräämällä kuvia korun käyttäjiltä ja tutustumalla olemassa oleviin säilytysratkaisuihin. Työn tuloksena tekijä suunnitteli seinälle sijoittuvan tuotesarjan, jossa koru ja sen teline ovat samanarvoisessa asemassa. Työ tehtiin puoliksi vaihdossa Yhdysvalloissa University of Kansasissa ja sisältää siksi arviointia opinnäytetyön tekemisestä ulkomailla.

The graduation project discusses the relationship between jewellery and sculpture, and the role jewellery has in interior design. The aim was to find a modern way to apply jewellery as a part of decor and thus create new uses for jewellery. The nature of jewellery is discussed through the history of modern jewellery and the definitions of jewelry art. The role of jewellery at home was investigated by collecting pictures of jewellery stands from users and by considering the existing storage options. As a result, the writer designed a product that adheres to the wall, and where both jewelry and its stand are of equal importance. The graduation project was executed in half at the University of Kansas, United States of America. Therefore an assessment of the exchange is included.
