Koru lasten maailmasta

Abstract

Opinnäytetyö Koru lasten maailmasta lähti kysymyksestä: Mitä lapsi ajattelee korusta? Kysymyksen pohjalta koettiin tärkeäksi selvittää esikouluikäisten lasten ajatuksia korun hyvästä muotokielestä ja tarkoituksesta. Lapsuuteen ja kohderyhmään perehdyttiin kirjallisten lähteiden kautta. Esille tuotiin muun muassa lapsuuden historiallista puolta johdatuksena nykypäivään. Kirjallisten lähteiden ja tekijän omien mielikuvien pohjalta laadittiin haastattelu esikouluikäisille lapsille. Haastatteluun saatiin tutkimuslupa Lahden päivähoidonjohtajalta ja se toteutettiin kahdessa lahtelaisessa päiväkodissa. Opinnäytetyössä pohditaan kirjallisten lähteiden kautta myös lapsi-vanhempi suhdetta koru-aiheena, sekä turvallisuusnäkökulmaa lasten koruihin lelujen standardien pohjalta. Lasten haastattelujen tulokset antoivat suunnan muotoilutehtävälle ja suunnitteluprosessille. Tekijä haluaa luoda korun lasten maailmasta, lapselta lapselle, mutta kuitenkin niin, että tekijän näkemys suunnittelijana välittyy. Opinnäytetyössä toteutettiin tutkielmakoru, joka kuvallisesti ilmaisee prosessin tuloksia. Tutkielmakorun pohjalta suunniteltiin ja valmistettiin lasten korusarja, jossa on otettu huomioon leikin merkitys lapselle sekä konsepti lapsi-vanhempi korulle.

The graduation project Jewelery from the world of children was based on the question: What does a child think about jewellery? To find out the childrens thoughts about the form language and meaning of jewelery it was important to interview the target group, preschool aged children. To familiarize oneself with the target group, literary sources were used. For example a historical view on childhood was used as an introduction to the present day. An interview was created based on the literary sources and on the makers own notions. A permission for the interview was applied from the Chief of Daycare Services. It was carried out in two kindergartens in Lahti. The child-parent relationship as a subject for a piece of jewellery was also researched through the literary sources. Safety was also an important point of view and it was studied using the standards created for the childrens toys as a reference. The intervews of the children gave direction to the design process. The maker wants to create jewelery from the world of children, but sustaining the vision of the designer. A treatise on the shape of jewelry was made based upon the childrens answers and literary sources. It presents the design process in graphical way. Based on the treatise, a set of childrens jewellery was designed and made, on which the meaning of play and the concept of child-parent jewellery has been taken into consideration.
