Old spaces, living art : OSLA-projekti

Abstract

Tässä opinnäytetyössä esitellään Turku Euroopan kulttuuripääkaupunki 2011 -hanke Old Spaces, Living Art -projekti. OSLA-projektia koordinoi Turun ammattikorkeakoulun Taideakatemia. Projekti toteutui yhteistyössä Pääskyvuoren peruskoulun, musiikkiopisto Arkipelagin sekä Turun museokeskuksen kanssa. Projektissa pyritään luomaan uusia työskentelymetodeja historian perusopetukseen kolmen eri taiteenlajin taiteilijan työskennellessä yhdessä projektiin osallistuvien oppilaitosten oppilaiden kanssa. Projektia työstettiin erilaisissa työpajoissa, joista kerätystä materiaalista koottiin lasten ideoima ja esittämä esitys Turun linnaan.

Projektin esittelyn jälkeen selvitetään sen tulevaisuutta sekä mahdollisuuksia sisältyä Turun ammattikorkeakoulun Taideakatemian opiskelijoiden opinto-ohjelmaan. OSLA-projektin toivotaan lisäävän Turun ammattikorkeakoulun Taideakatemian ulkopuolista rahoitusta opetukseen sekä yhteistyötä Turun ammattikorkeakoulun Taideakatemian eri koulutusohjelmien ja suuntautumisvaihtoehtojen välillä. OSLA-projektilla on mahdollisuuksia kehittyä tutkimus- ja kehityshankkeen kautta osaksi Taideakatemian opiskelijoiden opetussuunnitelmaa.

OSLA-projektin informaatio on koottu haastattelemalla projektiin osallistuvia sekä seuraamalla projektin etenemistä. Projektin tulevaisuutta pohdittaessa on hyödynnetty Turun ammattikorkeakoulun sekä Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön informaatiota.

This study is written as a fulfillment of the Dance Teacher Degree / Bachelor of Dance, at Turku University of Applied Sciences.

In this thesis is presented Turku the Culture Capital of Europe in 2011 project Old Spaces, Living Art. The project will help to develop new working methods for art education combining movement, sound and animation. The OSLA project was coordinated by the Arts Academy at Turku University of Applied Sciences. The project was created in cooperation and collaboration with the Pääskyvuori Elementary School, Music Institute Arkipelag and the Museum Centre of Turku. After this presentation the thesis includes research about the future of OSLA project and how this project can be involved in curriculum of the Arts Academy students. Senior Music Lecturer at the Arts Academy David Yoken suggested the topic of research for this thesis.

In the OSLA project three artists were working together with school children in dance, animation and music workshops. After these workshops there were ten performances in the Turku Castle presented by the school children. The performances were based on the materials from the workshops. The information for this thesis is mostly gathered from interviews. The research is based on the information from the Turku University of Applied Sciences and the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.

The conclusion of the research is that the OSLA project has the potential to be further developed into a sustainable collaboration between the Arts Academy students and school children in Turku area.
