Verenluovutuksen palvelukokonaisuus

Abstract

Tämä opinnäytetyö on verenluovutuksen palvelukokonaisuutta käsittelevä tutkimustyö. Työn tavoitteena on kartoittaa Suomen Punaisen Ristin Veripalvelun verenluovutustoiminnan palvelurakennetta ja löytää keskeiset kehittämiskohteet. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytetään teemahaastatteluja ja oman työkokemuksen reflektointia. Haastattelut sisälsivät myös osallistavia elementtejä. Haastatteluaineiston analysointiin käytetään palvelumuotoilulle tyypillisiä metodeita laajojen palvelukokonaisuuksien ymmärtämiseksi.

Haastattelujen aikana keskeisiksi teemoiksi nousivat tarinoiden merkityksellisyys ja luovuttajan kokemus osallistumisesta. Haastatteluissa nousi esille myös toisen luovuttajan kannustamiseen liittyvät mahdollisuudet.

Työn lopputuloksia ovat verenluovutuksen palvelukokonaisuuden visuaalinen mallinnus ja ideat keskeisten teemojen hyödyntämisestä uudessa mobiilisovelluksessa. Mallinnus kuvaa verenluovutuksen palvelupolun etenemistä, jonka mahdollistavat kokemusten ja tiedon myötä kasvavat odotukset. Mobiilisovelluksen lisäominaisuudet on suunniteltu tukemaan luovuttajan veriryhmäkohtaista ohjaamista. Sovelluksen lisäominaisuus sisältää visuaalisen luovuttajapolun, josta löytyy muun muassa edellisten luovutuskertojen tiedot ja suunnitelman mukainen seuraava luovutuskerta. Ominaisuuksien tavoitteena on myös korostaa luovuttajalle juuri hänen tekemänsä verenluovutusten merkitystä potilaiden auttamisessa.

This thesis is a study focused on the service environment of blood donation in Finland. The main goal is to chart the service environment of blood donation organized by the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service and to find the main areas for further development. The research methods in this study were theme interviews and self-evaluation of work experience in the Blood Service. The interview also included a participatory task to get out more detailed information about the service path. The gathered information was analyzed with methods typical to service design, which aims to deepen the understanding of large scale services.

Based on qualitative data from the interviews, the main areas to develop are the effects of meaningful stories and the experience of participation for blood donors. In addition to these, another possibility for further development was recommendation or encouragement from another blood donor.

The main outcome of this study is a visual model of the blood donation service environment and ideas for additional features for the new blood donor application. The visual model includes the blood donor service path and steps for expectations and the moments of the experience which lead to motivation. Motivation determines if the customer will continue on the service path or not. The main feature of the new application is a visual interface for the personal donor path, which donors can use to check the next possible donation date and browse through previous donations. The visual path also makes the donors efforts for helping patients more tangible.
