Laskimoverinäytteenoton perehdytysmateriaali ISLAB:lle : Hoitohenkilöstön preanalyyttisen osaamisen kehittäminen

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa perehdytysmateriaali laskimoverinäytteenotosta terveydenhuollon ammattilaisille. Tavoitteena oli preanalyyttisen osaamisen kehittäminen ja näytteenotossa tapahtuvien virheiden vähentäminen. Toimeksiantajana oli Itä-Suomen Laboratoriokeskuksen Liikelaitoskuntayhtymän (ISLAB) Kuopion aluelaboratorio.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä. Perustana opinnäytetyön tekemiselle oli se, että kaikilla Itä-Suomen alueella työskentelevillä terveydenhuollon ammattilaisilla olisi yhteinen ohjeistus laskimoverinäytteenotosta. Ohjeistus toteutettiin perehdytysmateriaalina, jonka avulla haluttiin lisätä vastavalmistuneiden ja vähän verinäytteitä ottavien perus- ja lähihoitajien sekä sairaanhoitajien laskimoverinäytteenoton osaamista.

Laboratoriotutkimustulosten lähtökohtana on laadukkaasti otettu ja käsitelty laskimoverinäyte. Kaikista tutkimustuloksiin vaikuttavista virheistä yli 40 % syntyy preanalyyttisessä vaiheessa. Laskimoverinäytteenotto edellyttää näytteenottajalta sekä teknistä osaamista että näytteeseen vaikuttavien preanalyyttisten tekijöiden tuntemista. Yhä useammin verinäytteitä ottavat laboratoriohenkilökunnan lisäksi muut hoitoalan ammattilaiset. Asiakkaalla on aina oikeus saada luotettavia laboratoriotutkimustuloksia riippumatta siitä kuka näytteitä ottaa.

Perehdytyksen tehtävänä on lisätä henkilöstön osaamista ja kehittymistä työssään sopivin väliajoin. Perehdytysmateriaalista, johon kuuluu PowerPoint-esitys ja lisäksi perehdyttäjälle käsikirjoitus, haluttiin tehdä tiivis ja käytännöllinen. Tuotosta käytetään Itä-Suomen alueen hoitohenkilökunnan perehdytyksessä. Tuotoksen päivitysoikeus jää ISLAB:lle.

The purpose of this thesis was to produce orientation material on venous blood specimen collection for health care professionals. The aim of the orientation material was to improve preanalytical knowledge and reduce errors that occur when collecting blood specimen. The client of this thesis was Eastern Finland Laboratory Centre Joint Authority Enterprise (ISLAB) Kuopio’s regional laboratory.

This was a functional thesis. The basis for this thesis was that all health care professionals working in Eastern Finland should have concerted instructions of venous blood specimen collection. Instruction was carried out to orientation material which helps to increase recently graduated practical nurses’ and nurses’ knowledge of venous blood sampling.

The basis of laboratory test results is venous blood specimen which is quality and properly handled. Of all errors that affect to test results over 40 % occur in preanalytical phase. People who collect venous blood specimens must have technical skills and knowledge of preanalytical factors that affect to the specimen. Increasingly blood specimens are collected by other health care professionals than biomedical laboratory scientists. Patient has always the right to obtain reliable laboratory test results regardless who has collected the specimen.

The idea of the orientation is enhance employee’s skills and make progress on their work appropriate intervals. This orientation material includes PowerPoint-slide show and manuscript for mentor. The material is compact and practical. This material will be used when orientating health care professionals in Eastern Finland. ISLAB will update this material in further needs.
