"No sanotaanko että ilman taidetta elämä olisi elotonta" : Päiväkoti Kätzleinin entisten asiakkaiden ajatuksia taidekasvatuksen merkityksestä

Abstract

Opinnäytetyöni tarkoituksena oli selvittää, millaiseksi päiväkoti Kätzleinin käyneet lapset ja nuoret ovat kokeneet Kätzleinistä saadun taidekasvatuksen merkityksen elämässään tänä päivänä ja millaiseksi heidän vanhempansa ovat kokeneet Kätzleinin taidekasvatuksen. Näiden kysymysten pohjalta selvitetään johtopäätöksissä, kuinka päiväkoti Kätzlein on päässyt tavoitteisiinsa taidekasvatuksen tarjoajana. Tutkimus oli luonteeltaan laadullinen ja se toteutettiin teemahaastatteluna sekä lapsille ja nuorille että vanhemmille. Haastatteluun osallistui lapsia, nuoria ja vanhempia kahdeksasta perheestä. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisellä analyysilla.

Tutkimustuloksista kävi ilmi, että lähes kaikilla lapsilla ja nuorilla oli kotitaustansa taiteellisuudesta riippumatta myönteinen suhde taiteeseen ja musiikkiin. Kaikilla oli tai oli ollut jokin taiteellinen harrastus, suurimmalla osalla se oli musiikki. Yhdeksän kymmenestä nuoresta kertoi aloittaneensa Kätzleinissa pianotunnit osana päivähoitopäivää ja jatkaneensa harrastusta päivähoitojakson jälkeenkin. Seitsemän kymmenestä kertoi jatkavansa tai jatkaneensa soitto-opiskelua musiikkiopistossa. Suurin osa vanhemmista ajatteli päiväkodin taidekasvatuksella olleen pohjaa lastensa musikaalisuuden vahvistumiseen, kiinnostuksen herättämiseen tai harrastuksen muodostumiseen. Kaikki vanhemmat olivat tyytyväisiä Kätzleinin taidekasvatukseen, suurin osa sen monipuolisuuteen ja erityisesti sen järjestämiseen osana päivähoitopäivää, jolloin illat voitiin pyhittää perheelle kotona.

Johtopäätöksenä voidaan aiempien tutkimusten tuella pitää sitä, että Kätzlein on onnistunut tavoitteissaan lasten taiteellisen kiinnostuksen herättämisessä, myönteisen musiikki- ja taidesuhteen kehittymisessä, yksilöllisesti sopivan taideharrastuksen löytymisessä sekä pohjan antamisessa musiikkiopisto-opiskelulle.

The aim of the study was to find out how the children and young people who have been in Kindergarden Kätzlein in their childhood have experienced the significance of the arts education today. In addition, how their parents have experienced the arts education. In conclusion, the study endeavors to find out how the Kindergarden Kätzlein has achieved its goals by organizing the arts education. The thesis is qualitative and the data was collected by interviewing the clients from eight families. The data was analyzed in depth.

The main results indicate that the children had a positive relationship with music and art despite of their home environment. All of the children had or had had some artistic hob-by and the most part of them had a music hobby. Nine of ten children told that he or she had started to play the piano in Kätzlein during the day care period and continued it after that. Seven children told he or she played or had played an instrument in a music institute. The most part of parents thought that the arts education had reinforced the relationship of art, aroused the interest or provided a hobby in the life of their children. All of the parents were satisfied with the arts education of Kätzlein, its multifaceted day program and especially, the organizing of arts education inside of the day care day. The family had got a possibility to spare more time at home after the day care because of the organizing system.

Supporting previous studies the main results indicate that the Kindergarden Kätzlein had gained its goals to inspire an interest in arts, to develop a positive relationship with music and art and to provide an individually appropriate art hobby and bases to continue playing in the music institute.
