KYSY MULTA : Helsingin maahanmuuttajanuorten näkemyksiä työllistymiseen

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on tehdä maahanmuuttajanuorten työllistymistilanne paremmin ymmärretyksi antamalla heille puheenvuoro, ”vastapuhe”, ja tuoda esille heidän omia näkemyksiään ja kokemuksiaan yhteiskunnan jäseninä sekä saada heidän äänensä kuuluville. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää maahanmuuttajanuorten työllistymistilannetta Helsingissä juuri heidän näkökulmastaan.

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on saada tietoa maahanmuuttajanuorten työllisyyttä edistävistä tekijöistä ja riskitekijöistä sekä selvittää, mitkä asiat estävät heitä työllistymästä. Tutkimuksessani tarkastelen maahanmuuttajanuorten tilannetta työmarkkinoilla ja heidän asemaansa suomalaisessa yhteiskunnassa. Opinnäytetyöni lähtökohtana on, että maahanmuuttajanuoret itse kertoisivat miltä heistä tuntuu ja mitä heiltä puuttuu. Näin työ tarjoaa viranomaisille ja muille tahoille tietoa, mitä mieltä he itse ovat työllistymistilanteestaan. Tämä tutkimus auttaa viranomaisia hahmotta-maan somalialaistaustaisten nuorten tilannetta johtopäätöksiä tehtäessä ja tarjoaa mietteitä sekä olennaista tietoa nuorten tarpeista sekä saamaan heistä kokonaiskuvan.

Opinnäytetyötutkimus on kvalitatiivinen, sen menetelmä on teemahaastattelu. Haastattelen kuutta somalialaistaustaista 18–24-vuotiaita nuorta miestä. Haastattelun avulla selvitän heidän työllisyyskokemuksiaan ja saan tietoa siitä, mitkä auttaa heitä pääsemään töihin ja mitkä asiat vaikeuttavat töihin pääsyä.

The purpose of this thesis is to shed light into the employment situation of the immigrant youth living in the Helsinki region through giving them an opportunity to address the employment issues as they themselves see them as members of the society. The aim of the study is to gather information regarding the factors that promote the employment of the foreign youth and, at the same time, assess those factors that have hindered them from receiving employment. This study therefore investigates the foreign youths’ employment situation in the labor market and their status in the Finnish society.

The basis of this thesis is also to give the chance for the immigrant back grounded youth to explain their unemployment situation and to tell what kind of factors they are lacking of in order to enter on work life. The result of this research will helps the authorities in decision making which affects the employment situation of the immigrant back grounded youth in Finland.

The approach of this study is qualitative; it´s method is theme interview. The means of carrying it out is a set of interviews: 6 young male individuals will be interviewed and their experiences in the labor market will be collected with the factors that either helped them receive or hindered them from receiving employment.
