Tiivistelmä
Preoperatiivinen vaihe on kirurgisen potilaan hoitopolussa ensimmäinen vaihe. Se käynnistyy potilaan leikkaustarpeen tunnistamisesta ja päättyy potilaan saapuessa leikkaussaliin. Potilaan toipumisen kannalta leikkausta edeltävä hoito on tärkeässä osassa.
Leikkausriskien hallitsemisen kannalta on tärkeää huomioida potilaan kokonaistilanne.
Leikkaukseen valmistautuvan potilaan voi kohdata hoitotyön eri osa-alueilla.
Opinnäytetyö on toiminnallinen. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus on lisätä hoitotyön opiskelijoiden tietoa kirurgisen potilaan hoitopolusta ja ohjauksesta ennen leikkausta. Toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön tehtävä on koota hoitotyönopiskelijoille itsenäisesti suoritettava verkkokurssi. Verkkokurssi toteutetaan osana Kirurgisen hoidon opintojaksoa.
Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja on Karelia-ammattikorkeakoulu. Verkkokurssi toteutetaan koulun sähköisessä oppimisympäristössä Moodle-alustalla.
Verkkokurssia olivat arvioimassa hoitotyön opiskelijat ja toimeksiantaja. Arvioinnin perusteella kurssi muokattiin lopulliseen muotoonsa. Jatkotutkimusaiheena voisi olla
preoperatiivisen hoitotyön yksityiskohtia, kuten tulohaastattelu tai lääkityksen huomioiminen ennen suunniteltua leikkausta. Laadullisia tutkimuksia aiheesta voisi olla esimerkiksi, miten hyvin työelämässä osataan tunnistaa leikkaukseen menevän potilaan tarpeet, tehdäänkö potilasohjausta jo terveyskeskuksissa, vai jääkö leikkausta edeltävä
ohjaus erikoissairaanhoidon vastuulle. The preoperative phase is the first step in the treatment of a surgical patient. It starts
with the identification of the patient’s need for surgery and ends when the patient arrives
at the operating room. The pre-surgical treatment plays an important role in the patient's
recovery. To manage the risks of surgery, it is important to take the patient´s overall
situation into consideration. One may come across a patient preparing for surgery in various fields of nursing.
The purpose of this practise-based thesis was to increase nursing student’s knowledge
of the clinical pathway and guidance of a surgical patient before surgery. The objective
was to create an online course, which nursing students take independently as a part of
the study module in Surgical Nursing. The thesis was commissioned by Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The online course is implemented on the Moodle platform,
which is an e-learning environment.
The online course was evaluated by nursing students and the commissioning organisation. The course was finalized based on the received feedback. Further research
topics could include details of preoperative nursing, such as an admission interview or
medication considerations before elective surgery. Qualitative research on the topic
could be, for example, how well the needs of a patients undergoing surgery are identified in working life, whether patient guidance is already provided at health centres, or
whether preoperative guidance remains the responsibility of special health care.
