Digitaalinen video, tehostetuotanto ja julkaisukanavat verkkoaikakaudella

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tutkia Adobe After Effects -jälkituotantosovellukselle tehtyjä opetusmateriaaleja ja kehittää niistä muita ehyempi opetuskokonaisuus, jota voidaan käyttää mm. yritysten ja yksityisten toimijoiden omassa viestinnässä ja/tai promootiokäytössä sekä toimeksiantajan tapauksessa kurssimateriaalina. Työssä käsitellään fundamentaalisimpia videotuotannoissa käytettyjä tehosteita ja tehokeinoja sekä nykypäivän uusia trendejä videotuotannon puolelta. Työ toimii myös ohjelmiston perustoimintojen oppaana siten, että kuka tahansa voi oppia käyttämään ohjelmistoa ja viemään projektinsa loppuun tämän opinnäytetyön pohjalta. Lisätavoitteena oli avata toimijoiden silmät uusille mahdollisuuksille informaation ja mainonnan kentässä sekä antaa perustiedot ja -taidot oman videotuotannon käynnistämiseen.

Varsinaisen työn ohella työstettiin akateeminen teksti, joka käsittelee videotuotannon muutosta siirryttäessä analogiajasta digitaaliaikaan sekä julkaisukanavien muutosta ja niiden vaikutusta Internet-aikakaudella. Tekstissä vertaillaan eri aikakausille ominaisia piirteitä, sisällöntuottajia ja -kuluttajia sekä sosiaalisia ja yhteiskunnallisia ympäristöjä ja lieveilmiöitä.

Liitteenä olevat kurssimateriaalit sisältävät esimerkkejä ja vaiheittaisia ohjeita oikeista, allekirjoittaneen tekemistä projekteista. Materiaalien tarkoitus oli antaa yksinkertainen ja käytännönläheinen kuva videoprojektin kulusta ja antaa vaiheittaiset ohjeet eri työtavoista ja tehosteiden toteuttamisesta.

The object of this thesis work was to research the teaching materials for Adobe After Effects, a post-production software, and from them, develop more coherent teaching materials. These materials could be used, for example, by businesses and private producers in their personal and internal communications as well as for promotional purposes. This thesis work’s client will use them as course material. The thesis addresses the most fundamental effects used in video productions and modern day trends in the field of video production. The thesis work also acts as a guide to the basic functions of the software in a way which enables everyone to learn how to use the software and go from start to finish with their own video projects. As an added objective, the goal was also to open the readers’ eyes to the new possibilities in the fields of information and advertising, and to give them the basic information and skills to kickstart their own video production.

As an addition to the actual thesis work, the theory text was written to address the changes in video production as the shift is made from the analogue era to the digital era and the changes in publication channels and their effect in the Internet era. The text compares the characteristics of different eras, content producers and consumers and also the social and societal environments and their side-effects.

The attached course materials include examples and step-by-step instructions for real projects done by the author. The purpose of the materials was to give a simple and practical picture of the course of a video project and to give step-by-step instructions of different work methods and the ways to achieve certain effects.
