NUORTEN KOKEMUKSIA TERVEYDENHOITAJAN ANTAMASTA PÄIHDEOHJAUKSESTA

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme tarkoitus on kuvailla ammattiopiston opiskelijoiden kokemuksia saamastaan päihdeohjauksesta terveystarkastusten yhteydessä. Tavoitteena on, että tulokset auttavat ammattiopiston opiskeluterveydenhoitajia ohjaamaan nuoria niin, että annettu päihdeohjaus vastaa ammattiopiston opiskelijoiden tarpeita.

Tutkimusongelmia työssämme oli millaisia kokemuksia ammattiopiston opiskelijoilla on terveydenhoitajan terveystarkastusten aikana antamasta päihdeohjauksesta päihdemittarin käytön yhteydessä. Sekä millaista päihdeohjausta ammattiopiston opiskelijat toivovat saavansa.

Päihdeohjaus on tärkeä osa terveydenhoitajan työssä työskenneltäessä kaiken ikäisten ihmisten kanssa. Päihdeohjauksella voidaan vaikutta nuorten mielipiteisiin ja asenteisiin päihteistä. Työtä tehdessä perehdyimme laajasti käsitteisiin nuori, päihteet sekä ohjaus. Opinnäytetyömme on kvantitatiivinen. Laadimme nettikyselyn ammattiopiston oppilaille. Tuloksista käy ilmi että nuoret pitävät päihdeohjausta tärkeänä ja hyödyllisenä sekä suurin osa nuorista tiedostaa päihteiden käytön mukana tuomat ongelmat. Nuoret myös pitävät terveydenhoitajan luottamus suhdetta tärkeänä osana päihdeohjausta. Nuoret toivovat konkreettisia esimerkkejä siitä mitä liiallinen päihteiden käyttö voi aiheuttaa

Our study aims to describe the vocational college students' experiences of substance counseling during the health nurses reception. The aim is that the results will help the public health nurses in the vocational college student healthcare to guide the young people so that the guidance of substances matches the students' needs.

Research problems in our thesis were to find out what kind of experiences the vocational college stu-dents have about the substance counseling when using an indicator that measures students’ substance use. We also wanted know what kind of substance counseling students would like to have.

Substance counseling is an important part of public health nurses job when working with people of all ages. Substance counseling can affect young people's opinions and attitudes towards substance abuse. While making this thesis we familiarized ourselves with the concepts of youth, substances and counseling. Our thesis is a quantitative one. We produced a questionnaire online to the vocational college students. The findings reveal that young people see substance counseling as an important and useful, and most of the young people are aware of the problems that substance abuse can cause. Young people also think that the confidential relationship between nurse and a student is an important part of substance counseling. All young people want concrete examples of what excessive drug use can cause.
