Tuotetietopankin Perustaminen Verkkokauppaan -Case NetAnttila

Abstract

Opinnäytetyö perustuu tuotetietopankin perustamiseen verkkokauppaan. Tuotetietopankki on tietokanta, joka sisältää normaalin tuotetiedon lisäksi rikastettua tuotetietoa. Tämä voi olla kuvaa, videota, animaatioita eli melkein mitä vaan. Ideana on tuoda tämä tieto verkkokauppaan ja antaa asiakkaalle modernia tuotetietoa. Tämä on myös vastaus verkkokaupan haasteille, joita ovat kilpailu ja ihmisten kynnys käyttää verkkoa ostoksiin.

Opinnäytetyön antaa tuotetietopankin avulla verkkokaupoille mahdollisuuden kehittää toimintaa innovatiiviseen suuntaan. Työ pohjustaa uudenlaista verkkokaupan mallia ja hallintaa, joka auttaa sekä ylläpitäjiä ja asiakkaita. Työtä on rajattu kehittäjien ja ylläpidon näkökulmasta. Yhteistyössä opinnäytetyössä on NetAnttila, sekä joukko pk-yrityksiä.

Opinnäytetyö vastaa kysymykseen, mitä täytyy olla kunnossa ja mitä toimenpiteitä täytyy olla tehtynä, kun tuotetietopankkia perustetaan verkkoon. Tämä on vaikea operaatio, jossa on monta vaihetta ja paljon riskejä. Opinnäytetyö kartoittaa nämä ja antaa niihin vastaukset. Opinnäytetyö sisältää myös teoriaa tuotetietopankin toiminnasta ja metodeista, joita tässä työssä käytettiin.

This is a research of setting up a Product Information Bank to a web store environment. The companies involved were Yoso Oy and NetAnttila. Yoso Oy was the company where the research was conducted and NetAnttila was its customer. Partners in this thesis project were also several Finnish small and medium-sized companies such as Belle Modeste and Olivia Rouge Shop.

The Product Information Bank is an advanced database which works as webstore and contains all product information. It also contains a great deal of advanced level product information which is used by customers of webstores. This advanced product information can be high quality pictures, video images from production lines, flash animation or sound files. This type of advanced product information is one key to increase customer satisfaction, raise sales and build a modern webshop. Setting up this massive database is a challenging project and thus this thesis is focused on re-search and seeking problems when setting up the Product Information Bank.

Thesis focuses on researching the development and setup of the Product Information Bank. It gives solutions to which project steps must be specially planned when setting up a Product Information Bank to a webstore environment. These steps are resources, project group and different environments which must be ready for this type of database. It also answers questions concerning the risks of similar projects and reveals which resources must be ready when starting the project. The thesis describes the methods which were used in research and their results. It tells how the data was collected, analyzed and reprocessed to final results.

The Thesis also contains information of theories which are essential for understanding how a Product Information Bank works in webstores. Most of the important parts of theory level are different user cases which are drawn to diagrams with UML 2 language and their details are written for the reader. With these diagrams understanding the workflow of the Product In-formation Bank is easier and the data presented there can be used in developing this type of database, which may be essential for future projects.
