Biologisten vanhempien käsityksiä heidän ja Perhekoti Himaharjun työntekijöiden välisestä yhteistyöstä vanhemmuuden tukemisessa : "Yhteistyö on sitä että puhalletaan yhteen hiileen."

Abstract

Opinnäytetyössä tarkasteltiin biologisten vanhempien käsityksiä yhteistyöstä heidän ja Perhekoti Himaharjun työntekijöiden välillä vanhemmuuden tukemisessa. Opinnäytetyössämme selvitettiin kuinka yhteistyö tukee vanhemmuuden toteutumista sekä kuinka yhteistyö vaikuttaa biologisten vanhempien ja heidän lasten välisiin suhteisiin. Opinnäytetyössä tarkasteltiin millaista yhteydenpito ja vuorovaikutus olivat biologisten vanhempien ja Perhekoti Himaharjun työntekijöiden välillä. Lisäksi selvitettiin biologisten vanhempien mahdollisuuksia kehittää yhteistyötä. Tavoitteena oli antaa tietoa Perhekoti Himaharjun työntekijöille siitä kuinka yhteistyö biologisten vanhempien välillä toimii ja tätä kautta tuoda esille Perhekoti Himaharjun työntekijöille kehittämisen kohtia yhteistyön toteuttamisessa. Opinnäytetyö oli kvalitatiivinen tutkimus, jossa käytettiin aineiston keruumenetelmänä teemahaastatteluja. Kohderyhmä teemahaastatteluissa oli Perhekoti Himaharjuun sijoitettujen lasten biologiset vanhemmat. Haastateltavia oli yhteensä kahdeksan. Aineiston analyysissä hyödynnettiin teoriaohjaavaa sisällönanalyysiä. Opinnäytetyö rakentuu Yrjö Engeströmin yhteistyön teorian pohjalle, jonka mukaan jäsenneltiin teemahaastattelun runko sekä sovellettiin tutkimustuloksista johtopäätökset. Tutkimustulosten mukaan toimiva yhteistyö työntekijöiden kanssa antaa biologisille vanhemmille voimavaroja vanhemmuuden tehtävissä sekä edesauttaa lasten ja nuorten hyvinvointia. Hyvä yhteistyö sitoo ja tiivistää biologisia vanhempia ja Perhekoti Himaharjun työntekijöitä toisiinsa sekä tukee molempien kasvatustehtäviä saman päämäärän saavuttamiseksi. Tutkimustulosten pohjalta nousi jatkotutkimuksen tarpeeksi selvittää kuinka sijoituksen pituus vaikuttaa biologisten vanhempien yhteistyön kokemiseen ja laatuun. Lisäksi olisi tarpeellista tutkia vanhempien tuen tarvetta sijoituksen aikana ja kuinka vertaistuki tähän vaikuttaisi.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine the biological parents’ views about co-operation between them and the workers of the Family Home Himaharju in supporting parenthood. In the research it was examined how the co-operation supports the fulfilment of parenthood of the biological parents and how good co-operation affects the relationship between the biological parents and their children. Another purpose of the study was to examine what kind of co-operation and interaction there was between biological parents and the workers of the Family Home Himaharju. In addition it was clarified how the biological parents have had the opportunity to develop the co-operation. The aim of the thesis was to give information to Family Home Himaharju on how the co-operation between them and the biological parents works and in this way to offer the Family Home Himaharju some points for developing on how to execute the co-operation. The research was qualitative and the materials were gathered by thematic interviews. The target group of this study was the biological parents of the children in Family Home Himaharju. There were eight parents to interview. The analysis of this material was based on theory. The study is based on the theory of co-operation by Yrjö Engeström, according to which the structure of our thematic interviews was built, and the conclusions of our research results were adapted. According to the results, functional co-operation with the foster care gives resources to the biological parents in their tasks of parenthood and that it supports the welfare of children and young people. Good co-operation ties and bonds them together and supports them both in their tasks in upbringing in order to reach the same goal. As a follow-up research it could be study that how the duration of the placement affects the experience and quality of co-operation in the view of the biological parents. In addition it would be important to research the need of the support for the biological parents during the custody and how the peer support would affect this.
