Nervus ischiadicuksen fysioterapeuttinen tutkiminen : opas fysioterapeuteille ja fysioterapian opiskelijoille

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli koota opas nervus ischiadicuksen anatomiasta, yleisistä hermo-ongelmista ja niiden fysioterapeuttisesta tutkimuksesta sekä fysioterapiaopetukseen materiaaliksi että käytännön työkaluksi kliiniseen työhön.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli hakea tietoa ja tutkimusnäyttöä nervus ischiadicuksen tutkimiseen käytetyistä testeistä ja koostaa niistä suomenkielinen ja kattava opas. Tarkoituksena oli, että opasta voidaan käyttää niin opetuksessa kuin käytännön työssä. Opas pohjautuu ICF-viitekehykseen ja sisällön pohjana on käytetty Alaselkä sairauksien Käypä hoito -suositukseen (Suomalainen lääkäriseura Duodecim 2008) kirjattuja tutkimuksia.

Opinnäytetyö koostuu kahdesta osasta: opinnäytetyöraportista sekä tutkimusoppaasta. Raportti sisältää teoriaosuuden, jossa on lähdemateriaaleihin perustuvaa tietoa nervus ischiadicuksen anatomiasta, yleisimmistä hermo-ongelmista ja niiden syistä ja nervus ischiadicuksen tutkimiseen käytettävistä testeistä. Myös tuotteistusprosessi on esitelty opinnäytetyöraportissa. Oppaassa käydään aluksi läpi alaraajaan säteilevän kivun vaikutusta asiakkaan toimintakykyyn ICF-viitekehyksen pohjalta. Oppaassa on kerrottu myös nervus ischiadicuksen anatomia ja yleisimmät hermo-ongelmat. Tärkeimmässä osassa oppaassa on nervus ischiadicuksen tutkiminen ja siihen liittyvät testit on esitelty perusteellisesti. Opas sisältää myös kuvia testeistä ja testausasennoista.

Opas tulee ladattavaksi Theseus-tietokantaan, ammattikorkeakoulujen oppinäytetöiden julkaisuarkistoon. Tietokannasta opas on vapaasti kaikkien fysioterapeuttien ja fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden käytettävissä.

The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis was to make a guide of the anatomy of the sciatic nerve, the general nerve problems and the physiotherapeutic examination of the problems for physical therapy education and practical tool for clinical practice.

The purpose of this thesis was to search for information and research evidence of the sciatic nerve examination and tests generally used and to compile a comprehensive guide in Finnish. The purpose was that the guide can be used for both teaching and practical work. The guide is based on the ICF framework and the content is drawn from the Käypä hoito –recommendation (Suomalainen lääkäriseura Duodecim 2008) studies.

The thesis consists of two parts: a report and a study guide. The report includes the related theory, i.e. the source of materials based on information about the anatomy of the sciatic nerve, common nerve problems and their causes, and the tests used to diagnose the sciatic nerve. The commercialization process is also presented in the thesis report.

The first part of the guide explains how the sciatica affects your performance on the basis of the ICF framework. The guide also describes the sciatic nerve anatomy and the most common nerve problems. The most important part of the guide is the sciatic nerve examination and related tests are presented in detail. In addition the guide also contains pictures of tests and test positions.

The guide can be downloaded from the Theseus database of the University of Applied Sciences’ online library. From the database the guide is freely available for physiotherapists and physiotherapy students.
