Opas lasten yleisimmistä infektiotaudeista

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa lasten yleisimmistä infektiotaudeista opas, joka suunnattiin sekä Lehmuskolon Haikaranpesän perhetyön yksikön työntekijöille että yksikön asiakkaina toimivien nuorten vanhempien käyttöön. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli, että nuoret vanhemmat sekä Haikaranpesän työntekijät oppivat tunnistamaan lasten yleisimpiä infektioita ja osaavat niiden kotihoidon perusteet. Tavoitteena on myös, että nuoret vanhemmat oppivat tunnistamaan sairastavan lapsen oireiden vakavuuden ja lääkäriin hakeutumisen tarpeellisuuden sekä vähentää tätä kautta aiheettomien lääkärikäyntien määrää. Opinnäytetyöntekijöiden omana tavoitteena oli kehittää omia taitojaan ohjausmateriaalin luomisessa, projektin hallinnassa ja lähdekriittisyydessä sekä lisätä omaa ammatillista kasvua.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä, jonka tuotoksena oli infektio-opas yleisimmistä lasten infektiotaudeista Lehmuskolon Haikaranpesän käyttöön. Oppaan sisältö perustui kirjalliseen teoriatietoon ja tilaajan tarpeisiin. Oppaassa käsiteltiin hengitystieinfektiot, oksennus- ja ripulitaudit, lois- ja rokkotaudit sekä muut yleiset infektiot. Oppaassa kerrottiin infektiotautien oireet, kotihoito-ohjeet sekä milloin tulisi ottaa yhteys terveydenhuoltoon. Oppaaseen sisällytettiin myös tarvittavat yhteystiedot.

Opinnäytetyön aiheena ollut lasten infektiotaudit ovat itsessään jo laaja aihe sisältäen siihen liittyviä lukuisia eri aihealueita, joita tässä opinnäytetyössä nyt vain sivuttiin keskittyen infektiotautien oireisiin ja hoitoon. Tulevaisuuden jatkokehittämishaasteena näistä eri osa-alueista, esimerkiksi infektioiden ehkäisystä, tartuntatavoista ja rokotusten roolista infektioiden ehkäisyssä olisi mahdollista luoda oppaaseen lisäosia, joilla tietoa voitaisiin syventää.

The purpose of this thesis was to produce a guide of the most common infections of children, which was directed both to the employees of the Lehmuskolo Haikaranpesä family work unit and to the use of young parents who are customers of the unit. The aim of the thesis was those young parents and Haikaranpesä employees learn to identify the most common infections in children and to know the basics of their home care. The aim was also for young parents to learn to recognize the severity of the sick child's symptoms and the need to see a doctor, thereby reducing the number of unnecessary doctor visits. The thesis workers' own goal was to develop their own skills in creating guidance material, project management and source criticism, and to increase their own professional growth.

The thesis was carried out as a functional thesis, the output of which was an infection guide of the most common infections of children for the use of the Haikaranpesä in Lehmuskolo. The content of the guide was based on written theoretical knowledge and the needs of the subscriber. The guide covers respiratory infections, vomiting and diarrhea, parasitic- and pox-diseases, and other common infections. The guide explains the symptoms of infectious diseases, home care instructions and when to contact your healthcare provider. The guide also includes the necessary contact information.

Infections of children, which was the subject of the thesis, are already a broad topic of themselves, including numerous different subject areas, which were now ignored in this thesis, focusing on the symptoms and treatment of infectious diseases. As a challenge for the future development of these different areas, such as infection prevention, infection patterns and the role of vaccination in infection prevention, it would be possible to create additional sections to the guide to deepen the knowledge.
