Contingency Planning and Risk Analysis:Containerships Land OY

Abstract

This thesis was conducted as a case study for Containerships Land OY. The thesis examines the creation of a contingency plan and the synthesis of a risk analysis to back up the plan. The contingency plan matches Traficom's [Valmiussuunnitelma] requirements.

Qualitative resesarch of previous risk management was conducted. Company representatives were interviewed to form an understanding of the company's internal operations. The risks analysis is a synthesis of prior research in the field and an analysis of interview results.

The outcome was a functional contingency plan that matches Traficom's requirements and a risk analysis. Both of these will be used by the company to further develop their preparation towards risks and contingencies.
