SIIVET : esiintymisasun suunnittelu kirkkokuoron naislaulajille

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli uuden esiintymisasun suunnittelu Savonlinna-Säämingin kirkkokuoron nais-laulajille. Lisäksi tavoitteena oli valmistaa suunnitellusta puvusta prototyyppi.

Työssä kuvaan kuoropuvun suunnitteluprosessia. Suunnittelun apuna käytin FEA- eli suomeksi TIE-mallia, joka on osa Jane M. Lambin ja M. Jo Kallalin (1992) kehittämää vaatetussuunnittelun kehysmallia.

Suunnittelussa otin huomioon kuorolaisten toiveet, jotka selvitin kyselyn avulla. Kyselyn tuloksia käyttäen tein TIE-mallista oman sovellukseni suunnittelutyötä varten. Sen lisäksi otin suunnittelun avuksi selvää myös kirkollisista väreistä sekä kirkkokuorokulttuurista.

Suunnittelun lopputuloksena syntyi kuorolaisten toiveiden mukainen kaksipuoleinen viitta, jolla voi muuttaa kuoron ilmettä eri tavoin käytettynä. Kuorolaiset olivat tyytyväisiä työn tulokseen.

Jatkotutkimusaiheena voisi olla tarkempi perehtyminen siihen, mitkä ovat olennaisimmat erot kirkko-kuorojen ja muiden kuorojen esiintymisasujen välillä, sekä ryhmän esittämän musiikkityylin vaikutus esiintymisasun suunnitteluun.

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to design a new performing dress for the lady singers of the church choir of Savonlinna–Sääminki. The purpose was also to make a prototype of the chosen model.

As a design framework I used the FEA-model, which is a part of Jane M. Lamb’s and M. Jo Kallal’s Apparel Design Framework (1992). The FEA-model takes the client’s needs into consideration for the design process.

I used a questionnaire to clarify the wishes and needs of the singers about the new performing dress. By using the results of the questionnaire, I made a new application of the FEA- model. I took ecclesiastical colors and the culture of the church choirs into consideration during the design process.

As a result of this work I designed a two-sided robe, which can be used in many ways to alter the visual image of the choir. The singers of the choir were satisfied with my design.

Topics for further research could be for example closer conversance with the most typical differences between performing dresses of church choirs and other choirs, and investigation into how the music that the group performs influences the design process of the performing dress.
