Hoitoympäristön merkitys potilaalle syöpätautien poliklinikalla

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää potilaiden viihtyvyyttä Satakunnan keskussairaalan syöpätautien poliklinikan hoitohuoneessa sekä tutkia hoitohuoneen toimivuutta potilaan näkökulmasta. Tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten uudet tilat vastaavat potilaiden tarpeita. Tarkoituksena oli myös lopuksi tehdä posteri, joka kertoo hyvästä hoitoympäristöstä. Aihe on työelämälähtöinen.

Tutkimusaineisto koottiin potilaille tehdyllä kyselyllä. Kyselylomakkeita jaettiin 50 kappaletta ja niitä palautettiin 48 kappaletta. Kysymyslomakkeessa oli kyllä ja ei kysymyksiä sekä avoin kysymys. Kysely oli tehty aikaisemmin syöpätautien poliklinikan toimesta. Vastausprosentti oli 96 %. Vastaukset koottiin yhteenvedoksi Excel-taulukkoon ja avoimet kysymykset käsiteltiin erikseen.

Vastauksista ilmeni potilaiden tyytyväisyys hoitohuoneeseen. Potilaat halusivat olla muiden seurassa, eivätkä halunneet hiljaista nurkkausta hoidon ajaksi. Pääasiassa potilaita häiritsi hoitohuoneen ahtaus lähinnä hoitoa haitaten. Potilaat toivoivat myös ruokaa ja lämmitä juotavaa varsinkin pitkien hoitojen aikana. Vastauksista nousi esiin potilaiden tyytyväisyys hoitohenkilökuntaan ja heille annettiin kiitosta hyvästä hoidosta.

Opinnäytetyötä voidaan hyödyntää hoitohenkilökunnan kehittäessä fyysistä hoitoympäristöä potilaiden kohdalla. Lopuksi valmistui posteri teorian ja tutkimuksen tulosten avulla.

The aim of this thesis is to clarify patients satisfaction for nursing room and research functionality in nursing room from patients aspect in Cancer care unit at Central Hospital of Satakunta. The intention was to define how the new room responds to patients needs. The aim was also to produce poster of this topic at the end of this project.

Material for this study was gathered by a questionnaire for patients. A total of fifty questionnaires were given to patients, and forty-eight came back. There were yes and no questions and one open question in the questionnaire. Clinical nurses made questions for patients. Response percentage: 96%. Information was fed to a computer with Excel software. Open questions were processed individually.

The general consensus showed that patients were satisfied by the nursing room. Patients wanted to be with others and they didn’t want silent place to be during treatment. Patients were mainly disturbed by the narrowness of the room because it disturbed nursing. Patients also wanted something to eat especially in long period treatments. Responses showed that the patients were very pleased to personnel care.

This thesis can benefit when personnel make improves to physical care environment. They can take into consideration the opinions of the patients. The poster was made based of the theory and the results of this study.
