Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kuvailla pikkulapsiperheiden vanhempien kokemuksia parisuhteen ja perheen ongelmista ennen avio- tai avoeropäätöstä. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa siitä, millaista tukea tai apua perhe olisi vastanneiden vanhempien mukaan tarvinnut kriisitilanteeseensa ennen päätöstä avio- tai avoerosta. Opinnäytetyön lähestymistapa oli laadullinen. Aineisto kerättiin sähköisten kyselylomakkeiden avulla kesällä 2012. Vastaajia oli 13. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisellä sisällönanalyysilla. Opinnäytetyön tulosten mukaan jokaisen vastanneen parisuhteessa tai perheessä oli monenlaisia ongelmia ennen avio- tai avoeroa. Vastaajat olivat saaneet tukea tai apua parisuhteensa tai perheensä ongelmiin, mutta sitä olisi toivottu lisää. Vastaajien toivoma lisätuki tai -apu muodostui ammatillisesta keskusteluavusta ja käytännön avusta sekä henkisestä tuesta vertaisilta ja läheisiltä. Jatkotutkimushaasteeksi nousi tarkemman selvityksen tekeminen Suomen evankelisluterilaisen kirkon merkityksestä perheiden hyvinvoinnin tukijana. Toiseksi jatkotutkimushaasteeksi muodostui miehille kohdistettu kysely parisuhteen ja perheen ongelmista sekä tuen tarpeesta ennen avio- tai avoeroa.

The purpose of the study was to describe the parents’ view on problems in intimate relationships and families with small children before divorce or separation from common-law marriage. The aim of the study was to get information about what kind of support or help the family would have needed in their situation before the divorce or the common-law separation. The study was a qualitative research. The data were collected with an internet questionnaire in summer 2012. There were thirteen answerers. The data were analyzed through inductive content analysis. The results showed that there were many kinds of problems in each informant’s intimate relationship or family before the divorce or the common-law separation. The informants had got support or help to their problems in intimate relationships and families, but they would have wished for more. The support or help that the informants would have wished for consisted of discussions with professional helpers, practical help and mental support from peers and the near ones. A further study challenge is a more careful research on the importance of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland in supporting the welfare of families. Another study challenge is an inquiry for men to find out their opinions of the problems in their intimate relationships and families and what kind of support and help they would need.
