”TÄÄLLÄ KUUNNELTIIN JA YMMÄRRETTIIN” : Asiakkaiden kokemuksia Porin ensi- ja turvakotiyhdistys ry:n perhetyöstä

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli lisätä tietoutta Porin ensi- ja turvakotiyhdistys ry: ssä kehitetystä uudenlaisesta perhetyön mallista. Valma- projekti oli loppusuorillaan syksyllä 2012 ja perheitä varten tehtävästä työstä haluttiin tuoda kuuluviin perheiden ääni: Mitä mieltä he olivat olleet tästä projektista? Kiinnostus tämän työn tekemiseen lähti kiinnostuksesta perheiden kanssa tehtävää työtä kohtaan sekä työharjoittelujaksosta Porin Esikossa. Työntekijöiden keskuudessa otettiin hyvin vastaan ehdotus asukkaiden haastattelusta. Tutkimusmenetelmänä oli kvalitatiivinen teema- haastattelu. Haastattelun teemat syntyivät tutkimusongelmista. Tutkimusongelmina oli selvittää miten äidin ja lapsen suhdetta on tuettu, minkälaista käytännön apua äidit ovat saaneet, miten äidit ovat kokeneet kasvatuskumppanuuden toteutuneen sekä miten yhteisöllisyys on auttanut heitä ja minkälaisena nähdään tulevaisuus. Haastattelut suoritettiin marras – joulukuun 2012 aikana. Jokaisella äidillä oli tuolloin mahdollisuus kertoa omin sanoin kokemuksistaan sekä tuntemuksistaan teorian mukaisten teemojen puitteissa. Haastatteluista selvisi, että äidit olivat saaneet monenlaista apua eri elämän osa-alueilla. Puolet haastateltavista kertoivat, etteivät olisi pystyneet pitämään lastaan ilman osallistumista Valma- projektiin. Toinen puoli haastateltavista sanoi, että tuki ja apu ovat olleet tarpeellisia ja nyt heillä on suuri luottamus elämään myös projektin ulkopuolella. Haastatteluista saadut tulokset osoittavat, että asiakkaat ovat olleet tyytyväisiä saamiinsa palveluihin ja että tämänkaltaiselle työlle on tarvetta.

Target of this thesis was to gain knowledge about the new way of social work for families. It was developed in Pori´s the Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters. Valma- project was nearly finished in autumn 2012. Object was to hear what the families were thinking about this project. Enthusiasm to do this work was my own object of interest for social work for families and my practical training session in Pori´s Esikko. Project workers and the rest of house´s employees were enthustiastic when I told that I was going to interview these residents. Research method that I used was qualitative theme- interview. The themes came from my theory. How mothers thought their relationship become better between their children? Which practice help they have got? What mothers thought about promoting the wellbeing of children and sense of community and what was mothers vision about the future? The interviews was made between november and december 2012. All mothers were given opportunity to tell with their own words about their experiences and feelings. I had couple of themes which their were able to discuss. The results were positive. Mothers experienced that they have got lots of various help. Half of the interviewed said that it would have been impossible to keep their children without this project. Rest of them said that support and help have been very necessary and now they were confident about future. The results shows that the clients are happy and this kind of work is needed.
