Surinaa : Kuoseja yöperhosista

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön aiheena on kuosikokoelman suunnitteluyöperhosista. Tekijä on kiinnostunut luonnosta ja erilaiset eläimet ovat hänelle läheisiä. Sisustustekstiileissä luonto on ollut suuri trendi jo pitkään ja senkin vuoksi luonto-aihe oli luonteva valinta kuosikokoelman aiheeksi.

Opinnäytetyössä pohditaan kuosisuunnittelua erilaisten eläimiin ja selkärangattomiin liittyvien kauneusihanteiden näkökulmasta. Perhosista syntyvien ideoiden lähtökohtana olivat oman veljen perhoskokoelmat ja sieltä löytyvät yöperhoset. Suunnittelussa hyödynnettiin valokuvausta perhosten muotojen hahmottamisessa. Tekijä valitsi värikartansävyt perhosten värien ja nykysisustukseen sopivien värisävyjen pohjalta.

Opinnäytetyössä suunniteltiin kuosikokoelma, joka sisältää neljä eri alamallistoa. Mallistot muodostuivat eri perhosten heimojen mukaisesti. Kokoelmasta koottiinmyös kuvakirja, joka jäi tulevan yrityksen haltuun. Kuvakirja sisältää 58 kuosia eri yöperhoslajeista.

Kuosikokoelma suunniteltiin tekijän tulevan yrityksen käyttöön. Opinnäytetyössään tekijä halusi luoda yrityksen käyttöön sopivan kuosikokoelman, jota voisi käyttää myöhemmin yrityksen tuotekehityksessä. Tulevan yrityksen liikeidean perusajatuksena on suunnitella ja valmistaa tuotteita, joiden aihe on otettu luonnosta. Tavoitteena oli myös syventää osaamista Adobe Photoshopin ja Adobe Illustratorin käytössä.

The subject of this thesis is to design a pattern collection from moths. The author is interested in nature and different kinds of animals are important to her. Ininterior textiles nature has been a big trend a long time and that is why nature as the subject for the pattern collection was a facile choice.

The thesis work discusses pattern designing from the aspect of the beauty ideals of different kind of animals and invertebrates. The ideas which derived from butterflies were based on the butterfly and moth collection of the author’s brother. Photography was utilized in designing in order to discern the shapes of moths. The tones of the color chart were selected on the grounds of moths’ colors and colors suitable for currentinterior design.

The thesis resulted in a pattern collection, which includes four different subcollections. The collections were made up of different families of moths. The collection was also compiled as a picture book which staysin the possession of the incoming company. The picture book includes fifty-eight patterns of different moth species.

The pattern collection was designed for the use of the author's incoming company. In the thesis project the author wanted to create a suitable pattern collection for the use of the company so that it could be used later in the product development of the company. The basic idea of the incoming company's business concept is to design and manufacture products whose subject has been taken from nature for sale and use the designed pattern collection in the company’s products. As anambition was also to deepen the expertise in usingthe Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Illustrator.
