Ajankäyttö taloushallinnon eri tehtävissä: case: Yritys X

Abstract

Tämä opinnäytetyö käsittelee taloushallinnon tehtäviä ja niihin kuluvaa ajankäyttöä. Opinnäytetyö on tehty toimeksiantona yritykselle, josta käytetään nimeä Yritys X. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on luoda kuvaus Yritys X:n taloushallinnon tehtävistä ja niiden tekemiseen kuluvasta ajankäytöstä. Tutkimuksessa käytetään apuna muita samaan yritysverkostoon kuuluvia yrityksiä. Lisäksi tavoitteena on laatia kehitysehdotuksia Yritys X:n taloushallinnon tehtävien ja ajankäytön tehostamiseksi. Työn teoriaosuudessa käsitellään taloushallinnon toiminta-alueita. Teoriaosassa kerrotaan myös taloushallinnon tehtävistä ja niihin kuuluvista osa-alueista. Teoriaosuuden lähdemateriaalina on käytetty alan kirjallisuutta ja Internetiä. Tutkimus on kvalitatiivinen tutkimus, joka toteutettiin puolistrukturoitujen haastattelujen avulla. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa hyödynnettiin kohdeyrityksessä saatuja asiakirjoja. Työn empiriaosuudessa on luotu kuvaukset Yritys X:n ja tutkimuksessa mukana olleiden yritysten taloushallinnon tehtävistä ja ajankäytöstä. Kehitysehdotukset tehtiin haastatteluiden ja tutkijan havainnoinnin perusteella. Tutkimuksen tuloksena saatiin kuvaukset taloushallinnon tehtävistä ja ajankäytöstä. Tehtäviä kuvaamalla löydettiin nykyiseen taloushallintojärjestelmään kehitysehdotuksia, joiden avulla pystytään tehostamaan kohdeyrityksen taloushallinnon tehtäviä ja ajankäyttöä. Tutkimustulokset osoittivat, että nykyisten toimintatapojen nykyaikaistaminen lisäisi yrityksen taloushallinnon tehokkuutta ja vähentäisi tehtävien tekemiseen kuluvaa aikaa. Myös muiden kuin taloushallinnon työtehtävien tekemiseen kuluva aika tulisi ottaa huomioon ja miettiä uudistamistapoja.

This thesis deals with financial management tasks and the related use of time. The thesis was made as a commission to a company identified as Company X in the study. The purpose of this study was to provide a description of the case company’s financial management tasks and time used for the tasks. The goal was also to make improvement proposals for the financial management tasks and time management. This study concentrated on companies belonging to the same network of companies. Interviews were conducted in these companies. The theoretical part deals with some of the different areas of financial management. Moreover, the theoretical part discusses the functions of financial management and the related areas. Sources for the theoretical section of this study include thematically related publications and the Internet. The thesis was carried out as a qualitative case study. It was carried out by means of semi-structured interviews. The case company’s documents were also used as material. The empirical part of this thesis includes descriptions of the case company’s and corporate companies’ financial management tasks and the use of time in those tasks. Improvement proposals were made based on these interviews and observations of the author. The result of the study is a description of the case company’s financial management tasks and time management. By describing the financial management tasks, it became possible to find development proposals for the current system. The proposals have the potential to improve the case company’s financial management tasks and time management. The results indicate that modernizing the current practices would increase the company’s financial performance and reduce the time it takes to do the assignments. Finally, in addition to financial management related tasks, the company should also pay attention to the use of time in other tasks and consider how these could be improved.
