Web-pohjainen koulutusten hallintajärjestelmä : Suunnittelu ja toteutus

Abstract

Tässä opinnäytetyössä suunniteltiin ja toteutettiin web-pohjainen koulutusten hallintajärjestelmä Ylä-Savon lomituspalveluille. Aiemmin Ylä-Savon lomituspalveluiden lomittajien koulutustietoja pidettiin yllä Excel-pohjaisessa järjestelmässä, mutta kasvaneiden koulutustarpeiden ja -vaatimusten myötä nähtiin tarve järjestelmälle, johon voidaan keskitetysti tallentaa koulutusten ja lomittajien tiedot.

Työn ensimmäisessä vaiheessa perehdyttiin lomituspalveluihin sekä määriteltiin järjestelmältä vaaditut toiminnot toimeksiantajan kanssa. Määriteltyjen vaatimusten pohjalta suunniteltiin työn toteutus sekä valittiin toteutuksessa käytettävät tekniikat. Työn toisessa vaiheessa toteutettiin itse koulutusten hallintajärjestelmä, jonka käyttöliittymä toteutettiin HTML- ja PHP-kielillä sekä ulkoasu määriteltiin CSS-tyyleillä. Järjestelmän tietojen tallennustavaksi valittiin MySQL-tietokanta, joka mallinnettiin MySQL Workbench -ohjelmalla.

Tässä raportissa keskityttiin koulutusten hallintajärjestelmän ominaisuuksien ja toimintojen kuvaukseen, mutta samalla perehdyttiin tietojärjestelmiin ja relaatiotietokantoihin sekä järjestelmän toteutuksessa käytettyihin tekniikoihin. Opinnäytetyön tuloksena saatiin vaatimuksia vastaava järjestelmä, johon sekä toimeksiantaja että toteuttaja ovat tyytyväisiä.

The main goal of this thesis was to design and implement a web-based course management system for Ylä-Savon lomituspalvelut. Previously, the information about courses and stand-ins of Ylä-Savon lomituspalvelut was maintained in an Excel-based system but with increased training requirements a need for a system in which course and stand-in information could be stored was seen.

The first part of this thesis was to become familiar with stand-in services in general and to define the functionality of the course management system together with the client organization. Based on the defined functionality the implementation of the system was planned and the techniques used in the implementation were chosen. The second part was to implement the course management system. The user interface was implemented in HTML and PHP languages and the style definitions were defined with CSS. MySQL database which was modeled with MySQL Workbench was chosen as the method for storing the information in the system.

This report focused on describing the features and functionality of the course management system but also examined information systems and relational databases as well as techniques used in implementing the course management system. As a result, the course management system met all the predefined requirements and both the client organization and the author are satisfied with the results.
