Viestejä terveydenhuoltoneuvos Tyyne Luoman kotikirjastosta : sähköinen teosluettelo

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli luetteloida Hoitotyön koulutuksen museossa sijaitsevan terveydenhuoltoneuvos Tyyne Luoman kotikirjaston teokset sähköiseen muotoon. Sähköisen teosluettelon ja koko opinnäytetyömme tavoitteena on saada Tyyne Luoman lahjoittamat teokset terveydenhuoltohenkilöstön ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijoiden käyttöön ja lisätä sitä kautta tietoisuutta historian merkityksestä tämän päivän terveydenhoitotyöhön.

Opinnäytetyömme on osa Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun ja Hoitotyön koulutuksen museon projektia. Projektin tavoitteena on tallentaa hoitotyön ja hoitotyön koulutuksen historian vaiheita koulutuksen alkuajoista nykypäivään ja tulevaisuuteen. Opinnäytetyön prosessin aikana teimme yhteistyötä Hoitotyön koulutuksen museon, Uudenmaan maakuntamuseon museotutkijan ja Metropolia Ammattikorkeakoulun kanssa.

Luetteloimme Tyyne Luoman kotikirjaston 598 teosta Excel-taulukkoon ja samalla teimme niistä havaintoja. Teosten omistuskirjoituksista ilmeni, että Tyyne Luoma oli saanut paljon teoksia lahjoituksina. Luoman oma singneeraus löytyi 113 teoksesta. Luetteloinnin jälkeen järjestelimme teokset aihealueittain kirjahyllyihin.

Tyyne Luoman kotikirjaston laajimmat aihealueet olivat uskonto, kaunokirjallisuus ja terveydenhuolto. Tarkastelimme lähemmin kotikirjastosta löytyneitä Tyyne Luoman omia julkaisuja ja peilasimme terveydenhoitotyön kehittymistä tähän päivään. Kotikirjastoon perehtymisen kautta vahvistuu hänen merkittävä vaikutuksensa suomalaiselle terveydenhoitotyölle ja sen koulutuksen kehittämiselle.

The objective of this final project was to list the books of Health Counselor Tyyne Luoma’s home library and to form an electronic catalogue of them. The aim of this final project was to make it possible to the Finnish health care personnel and students to access these donated books and to increase the awareness of the nursing and health care history in a daily health care environment.

This final project was part of a project of the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and the Museum of Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Midwifery Education, Helsinki, Finland. The aim of that project was to save the history of nursing and development of nursing education from early days to future. We co-operated with the Museum of Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Midwifery Education, the Uusimaa Provincial Museum and the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences during this process.

We catalogued 598 books of Tyyne Luoma’s home library using the Microsoft Excel program. The dedications to the books indicated that many of the books were personally donated to her. Ms Luoma had signed 113 books herself. After cataloguing we organized the books to the bookshelves of the museum by categories.

The major categories were religion, fiction and health care. We analyzed more carefully the publications by Ms Luoma, and after that, we reflected how nursing had evolved to present. After familiarizing oneself with Ms Luoma’s home library collection, one realises her remarkable influence to the nursing and health care and the development of nursing education in Finland.
