Allt arbete utfördes i 3d-win. Summary
The aim of this study was to compare height differences between the GNSS-measuring technique and the flight laser scanning method. The goal was to investigate if the flight laser scanning method could be used for example drainage planning of a field. The area investigated was a 37 hectare field south of the village of Ylihärmä. All work was performed in 3d-win. All GNSS material and flight laser scanning material were submitted by the ELY-centre. The flight laser scanned material must be scaled down so that the 3d-win program and the computer capacity will be sufficient. Two separate terrain models were made on the basis of the GNSS material and the flight scanning material and these two models were later compared with each other. The comparison consisted of cross intersections where the two terrain models were compared. A comparison between the heights of the GNSS points and the height of the laser scanned terrain model were also made. The height differences were represented in an Excel table. The results show that aerial laser scanning provides a good result in all places except ditches where one could distinguish several decimeters in height difference.
