Ryhmäkodista kodiksi ja tunteiden pesäksi : Erityisryhmien kanssa työskentelevien työntekijöiden sosiaalipedagogisen työotteen etsiminen ryhmäkodissa

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteet: Opinnäytetyöni tarkoitus on kehittää työtä erityistä tukea tarvitsevien asiakkaiden parissa heidän subjektiuttaan, itsemääräämisoikeuttaan ja persoonaansa korostavaan suuntaan. Tässä kaikessa oleellista on työntekijän asenne. Opinnäytetyöni johdattaa lukijaansa innostumisen äärelle omassa työssään. Tällöin myös asiakas voi hyvin. Innostuminen alkaa oman työnsä tärkeäksi kokemisesta ja perimmäisten kysymysten äärelle pysähtymisestä. Tällöin asiakas ja hänen ainutlaatuinen elämänsä nousevat keskiöön työnteon ainoaksi tarkoitukseksi.

Opinnäytetyön teoreettinen viitekehys: Pohdin edellä mainitsemiani asioita sosiaalipedagogisessa valossa sekä sosiokulttuurisen innostamisen kautta. Etsin sosiaalipedagogista työotetta ja -asennetta sekä pohdin ryhmäkodin kodinomaisuutta osana tätä kaikkea. Tämä sisältää mielestäni koko opinnäytetyöni ydinkysymyksen; miten erityistä tukea tarvitseva asiakas voi elää omaa ainutlaatuista elämäänsä. Koti on tässä mielessä oleellinen osa asiakkaan arkea ja ryhmäkodin tai asuntolan työntekijä täten suuri mahdollistaja.

Toteutustapa: Käytän opinnäytetyöni aineistona autististen henkilöiden parissa työskentelevien henkilöiden laatimia kirjoitelmia omasta työstään sekä siitä, miten he pyrkivät tuomaan asiakkaidensa subjektiutta esiin. Kirjoitelmien tavoitteena oli innostua omasta työstään ja asiakkaistaan. Olen analysoinut kirjoitelmat aineistolähtöisesti esille nousseiden teemojen mukaisesti sekä jaotellut kirjoitelmien sitaatteja näiden teemojen alle. Aineistonani toimii myös sosiaalipedagogiikasta kertova kirjallisuus, jonka kautta kokoan ehdotelmia sosiaalipedagogisen työotteen käyttöönottoa varten.

Tutkimustulokset: Opinnäytetyöni tutkimustulos on, että asiakkaan elämän syvempi ymmärrys sekä paremman elämänsä puolesta taisteleminen ovat mahdollisia aivan pienillä arkipäiväisillä valinnoilla. Tarvitaan kuitenkin yhteistä tahtotilaa sekä yhteistä ja jaettua eettistä ajattelua. Näistä asioista tulee puhua sillä ne eivät ole itsestäänselvyyksiä.

Johtopäätökset: Työstään innostunut henkilö jaksaa katsoa yhä syvemmälle tekemänsä työn ydinkysymyksiin ja kaikkein oleellisimpaan. Tämä innostus ei aina ole automaattista, mutta sitä voi kehittää yhdessä työyhteisön kanssa.

Goals of the thesis: The goal of my thesis is to develop the work done with clients with special needs to a new direction, which emphasizes the customers' subjectivity, self-determination and personality. An essential part of this process is the attitude of the employee. My thesis guides the reader towards finding the inspiration in ones' own personal work, which also leads to the well being of the customer. The inspiration starts from finding ones' own work important and from pausing for a while by the essential questions. This is how the client and his/her unique life become the centre and the only true meaning of the work.

Theoretical framework of the thesis: I contemplate the questions mentioned through social pedagogy and through socio cultural inspiration. I am looking for a social pedagogical work grasp and work attitude. I also contemplate the homelikeness of a group home as a part of all this. This also contains the core question of my thesis: how a client with specials needs is able to live his/her own life in his/her own special way. Home is an essential part of clients' everyday life and the employee at the group home is therefore a great enabler.

Method: The material for my thesis consists of writings made by people who work with autistic people. In these writings the employees tell how they try to bring front and carry out the clients subjectivity. The goal of the writings was to find inspiration in ones' own work and from ones' own clients. I have analyzed the writings with content analysis by the themes occurred and inserted some quotes under different themes in the thesis. Another source for material has been the literature on social pedagogy. I have used it to gather some suggestions on how the social pedagogical work methods could be put to use.

Results: Result of my thesis is that the deeper understanding of clients' life and the fight for its improvement are possible with small everyday choices. However, a common endeavour and common ethical thinking are needed. These matters should be discussed because they are not obvious.

Conclusions: A person inspired by his/her work is capable of looking deeper into the core questions of the work and into the most essential. This inspiration does not always come automatically but it can be developed in cooperation with the work community.
