Kirjallisuuskatsaus päiväkirurgisen lapsipotilaan hoitopolun kehittämisestä

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli laatia kirjallisuuskatsaus sujuvan ja saumattoman lasten päiväkirurgisen hoitopolun käytön hyödyistä potilaalle, vanhemmille sekä sairaalaorganisaatiolle. Hoitopolku on moniammatillinen projekti, jonka tarkoituksena on taata potilaalle mahdollisimman hyvä hoito parasta mahdollista asiantuntijuutta ja uusinta tutkimustietoa käyttäen. Opinnäytetyömme on osa Tulevaisuuden lastensairaala (TuLe)-hankkeen projektia. Tarkoituksenamme oli saada ajankohtaista ja luotettavaa tietoa sujuvan ja saumattoman hoitopolun käytön toimivuudesta lasten päiväkirurgiassa.

Työmme on toteutettu systemaattisen kirjallisuuskatsauksen keinoja ja sisällönanalyysia käyttäen. Olemme valinneet tutkimuksemme aineistoksi kahdeksan tutkimusta, jotka valikoimme kriteeriemme mukaan.

Katsauksessamme selvisi, että sujuva ja saumaton hoitopolku edistää kustannustehokasta ja hyvää hoitoa. Hoitopolku parantaa potilaiden ja vanhempien tyytyväisyyttä hoitoon ja sen laatuun. Hoitopolku myös parantaa yhteistyötä eri ammattiryhmien ja omaisten välillä. Komplikaatiot vähenivät, lääkehoito ja kivunhoito tehostuivat.

Opinnäytetyön keskeisenä tuloksena on huomio, että suunnitellun ja saumattoman hoito-polun käyttöönotto on paras ratkaisu sekä potilaan, omaisten että sairaalan kannalta. Hoitopolun kehittäminen säästää kustannuksissa ja mahdollistaa potilaan parhaan mahdollisen hoidon yhtenäistämällä hoitokäytäntöjä.

The purpose of our thesis was to compile a literature review regarding the benefits of care pathway for day children undergoing day surgery in contrast to a model without a standard medical practice. Care pathway is a multiprofessional project, which purpose is to gain the best possible care for the patient using the best possible expertise. Our thesis is part of the project named TuLe, Tulevaisuuden lastensairaala (The future children hospital). The pur-pose was to gain current and reliable information regarding the functionality of a care pathway for children undergoing day surgery.

Our work has been done using the methods of a literature review and content analysis. We have chosen eight research papers that we selected using our criteria.

Our review indicates that a care pathway promotes cost-effectiveness and better quality patient care. A care pathway improves the overall satisfaction rate among all the parties involved regarding care and it´s quality. Care pathway also improved the co-operation among different professionals and parents. There was a significant reduction in complica-tions and boosts in both drug and pain treatment.

The central result of the literature review is the observation, that a well-planned care path-way is the best solution for both the patients, parents and the hospital. The development of a care pathway is cost-effective and enables the best possible care for the patient by unify-ing the care practices.
