Perhetyöntekijän tarve äitiys- ja lastenneuvolassa

Abstract

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa ennaltaehkäisevän perhetyön tarvetta äitiys- ja lastenneuvoloissa. Haluttiin selvittää onko neuvolatyöryhmässä perhetyöntekijän tarvetta ja miten terveydenhoitajat kehittäisivät ennaltaehkäisevää perhetyötä äitiys- ja lastenneuvoloissa. Tutkimuksen teoreettisessa osuudessa käsiteltiin perhetyön muotoutumista, äitiys- ja lastenneuvolan toimintaa ja sen tarjoamia ennaltaehkäiseviä tukimuotoja sekä lapsiperheiden tuen tarpeen havaitsemisen keinoja. Teoreettisessa osuudessa käsiteltiin myös neljää hanketta, jotka ovat toteutuneet Satakunnan alueella. Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena Keski-Satakunnan terveydenhuollon kuntayhtymän ja Luoteis-Satakunnan kansanterveystyön kuntayhtymän äitiys- ja lastenneuvoloiden terveydenhoitajilla syyskuun 2007 aikana. Kyselylomake lähetettiin 19 henkilölle ja kyselylomakkeen palautti 14 henkilöä. Tutkimuksen vastausprosentti oli 73,7. Tutkimustuloksien mukaan äitiys- ja lastenneuvoloissa on tarvetta perhetyöntekijälle. Perhetyöntekijä tarvitaan neuvolatyöryhmään, koska terveydenhoitajilla ei ole tarpeeksi aikaa perheille, perheiden ongelmat ovat lisääntyneet ja sosiaalialan tuntemusta tarvitaan lisää neuvolaan. Moniammatillinen yhteistyö, lisäkoulutus ja perhetyöntekijä auttaisivat ennaltaehkäisevässä perhetyössä terveydenhoitajia. Tukea tarvitsevien perheiden voimavaroja tulisi lisätä vertaistukiryhmien avulla ja kotikäyntien lisäämisellä. Työpariksi kotikäynnille terveydenhoitajat haluaisivat mieluiten perhetyöntekijän. Suurin osa vastaajista valitsi perhetyöntekijän koulutukseksi sosionomi (amk):n. Ennaltaehkäisevän perhetyön kehittämiseksi haluttiin lisätä perhetyöntekijä neuvolatyöryhmään. Lisäksi haluttiin moniammatillisen yhteistyön kehittämistä. Äitiys- ja lastenneuvolan toimintaa tulisi kehittää nykypäivän vaatimusten mukaiseksi. Tuloksia voidaan käyttää ennaltaehkäisevän perhetyön ja varhaisen puuttumisen panostamiseksi sekä keskusteltaessa neuvoloiden kehittämisen suunnasta.

The purpose of this research was to map out the need for preventive family work in antenatal clinics and child welfare centre. Wanted to find out if there is a need for a family worker in the taskforce and how would public health nurses develop preventive family work in antenatal clinics and child welfare centres. In the theoretical part of the research has been dealt with the shapening of family work, the operation of antenatal clinic and child welfare centre and the preventive forms of support they offer and the ways to perceive need for support for child families. The research was carried out as a survey to the public health nurses of Keski-Satakunta Joint Municipal authority for Health Cares and Luoteis-Satakunta public healthcare Joint Municipal authority for Health Cares antenatal clinics and child welfare centres during the September of 2007. The survey was sent to 19 persons and 14 persons returned the survey. The reply percent of the research was 73,7. According to the results there is a need for a family worker in both antenatal clinics and child welfare centres. The family worker is a needed in the taskforce, because the public health nurses don’t have time for families, the problems in families have increased and there is a growing need for knowledge of social studies in clinics and centres. Multiprofessional cooperation, further education and a family worker would help the public health nurses in preventive family work. The mental resources of families needing support should be enhanced with the help of support groups and by increasing home visits. The public health nurses would prefer a family worker as a co worker for home visits. Most of the respondents chose the bachelor of social studies as the education for a family worker. In order to improve the preventive family work it was wanted to add a family worker to the taskforce. Furthermore it was wanted the improvement of the multiprofessional cooperation. The operation of antenatal clinics and child welfare centres should be developed to match the modern day standards. The results can be used to work towards the increasement of preventive family work and early intervention and as help when discussing what direction the clinics and centres should be developed.
