Psyykkisen tuen tarjoaminen aivoverenkiertohäiriöpotilaalle sairauden kuntoutusvaiheessa

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää psyykkisen tuen tarjoamisen mene-telmiä aivoverenkiertohäiriöpotilaalle sairauden kuntoutusvaiheessa hoitotyön näkökulmasta. Tehtävänä oli vastata kysymykseen: millaista psyykkistä tukea aivoverenkiertohäiriöpotilaalle voidaan tarjota sairauden kuntoutusvaiheessa hoitotyön keinoin. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli tuottaa tietoa sekä syventää opiskelijoiden sekä sairaanhoitajien ymmärrystä aivoverenkiertohäiriöpotilaan psyykkisen tuen tarpeesta neurologisessa kuntoutuksessa sairauden akuutti-vaiheen jälkeen. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kuvailevana kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Käytettyjä tietokantoja olivat Cinahl, Finna ja Medic. Kirjallisuuskatsauksessa käsiteltiin kymmenen tutkimusta ja artikkelia. Aineisto analysoitiin laadullisen sisällönanalyysin menetelmällä.

Tulokset osoittavat, että sairaanhoitajan tarjoamat psyykkisen tuen menetelmät hoitotyössä ovat monipuolisia ja haastavia. Sairaanhoitajien laaja-alainen psykoedukatiivinen tuki ja kokonaisvaltainen asiakaslähtöinen tuki korostuvat hoitotyössä. Vuorovaikutukseen ja luottamukseen perustuva psyykkinen tuki sekä potilaiden perheenjäsenten tukeminen koettiin myös tärkeiksi osiksi psyykkisen tuen tarjoamista aivoverenkiertohäiriöön sairastuneelle. Jatkotutkimusehdotuksina opinnäytetyön pohjalta nousi muun muassa, miten hoitajien riittämättömyys vaikuttaa psyykkisen tuen tarjoamiseen aivoverenkiertohäiriöpotilaalle sekä aivoverenkiertohäiriöpotilaita hoitavien sairaanhoitajien jaksamisen sekä läsnäolon merkityksen tutkiminen.

The purpose of the thesis was to study what kind of mental support can be provided to a patient with cerebrovascular disease during the rehabilitation phase of the disease through nursing. The task was to answer the question: what kind of mental support can be provided to a patient with cerebrovascular disease during the rehabilitation phase of the disease through nursing. The aim of the thesis was to produce information and deepen the understanding of students and nurses about the need for mental support for a patient with cerebrovascular disease in neurological rehabilitation after the acute phase of the disease.

The thesis was carried out as a descriptive literature review. The databases used were Cinahl, Finna and Medic. The literature review covered ten studies and articles. The material was analysed using the method of qualitative content analysis.

The results showed that the methods of mental support provided by the nurse in nursing are varied and challenging. Extensive psychoeducational support for nurses and comprehensive customer-oriented support is emphasised in nursing. Mental support based on interaction and trust, as well as support for patients` family members, are also seen as an important part of providing mental support to a person with cerebrovascular disease. Further studies on the topic could include, among other things, how the inadequacy of nurses affects the provision of mental support to a patient with cerebrovascular disease. Further, it could be studied how coping with workload affects the nurses’ ability to treat patients with cerebrovascular disease.
