The client, Hanza Toolfac Oy, was looking for a new orientation of the equipment layout for the expansion project. The purposes of this project were to improve the production efficiency and the capacity. To reach the purposes, the planning of interior material transportation was assigned to the author. This thesis presents this planning activity.
The thesis followed the process of SLP, Systematic Layout Planning, to generate a resilient layout. Before the SLP, the selecting process of the software tool was followed by the method of MCDA, Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis.
The thesis result showed the current material transportation distance and its optimisation based on the current facility. The expansion part of the project was excluded due to the thesis schedule.
