Muutostilanne dokumentin aiheena : Draaman keinot Muistoja Virroilta -dokumentissa

Abstract

Opinnäytetyöni kirjallinen osa käsittelee muutosta ihmisten elämäntilanteessa dokumentin aiheena. Taiteellisena työnäni on dokumentti, jossa Virtain TAMKin opiskelijat ja työntekijät saavat tuoda julki muistojaan ja kokemuksiaan ammattikorkeakoulussa vietettyjen vuosien varrelta. Tällä tavalla pyrin selvittämään, miten henkilöiden kertomukset ilmaisevat heidän näkemystään paikan merkityksestä heidän elämässään ja miten toimipisteen lähestyvä lakkauttaminen heihin vaikuttaa.

Kirjallisessa työssä tavoitteenani on tutkia, miten dokumenttiin on sovellettavissa draamallisen kerronnan elementtejä. Toisin sanoen, kiinnostukseni aiheena ovat dramaturgiset keinot paitsi katsojan kiinnostuksen herättämiseksi aiheeseen myös tämän kiinnos-tuksen ylläpitämiseen sekä muut keinot vahvan katsomiskokemuksen luomiseksi. Lisäksi käyn läpi seikkoja liittyen tekijän suhteeseen aiheeseensa ja aiheen vaikutukseen lähestymistavan valinnassa.

Henkilökohtainen puoli työssä on ennen kaikkea se, että olen itse Virtain TAMKin opiskelija ja aihe koskettaa minuakin. Minulla on paikasta omat muistoni ja dokumentin teon kautta olen saanut valotettua sitä, miten muut yhteisömme jäsenet ovat kokeneet oppilaitoksessa viettämänsä ajan.

This bachelor's thesis dealt with the change in people's lives as the subject of a documentary. The project part of my thesis was a documentary where the students and employees of TAMK recalled their memories and experiences from the years spent in the school. Through this, I tried to find out how their stories express their views on the effect the school has had on their lives and how the oncoming closedown of the school affects them.

The goal of my thesis was to examine how elements of dramatic narration can be applied to a documentary. In other words, my interest lay in the dramaturgic means, not only to spark the viewer's interest in the topic but also to uphold that interest, as well as the other means of creating a strong viewing experience. Some matters regarding the author's connection to the subject and the effect of the subject on choosing the approach were also reviewed.

The personal aspect in my work is above all the fact that I am a student at TAMK Virrat and the subject affects me, too. I have memories of my own of the place and, through making the documentary, I managed to shed some light on how the other members of our community have experienced the time they have spent in this school.
