Offsetpainon toiminnan kehittäminen

Abstract

Insinöörityössä kehitettiin offsetpainon tuotannon prosesseja ja varastointia tehokkuuden ja työviihtyvyyden lisäämiseksi. Työ jaettiin kolmeen vaiheeseen. Ensimmäisessä vaiheessa kartoitettiin mahdollisia kehityskohteita ja ongelmia tuotannossa ja prosesseissa. Toi-sessa vaiheessa näitä ongelmakohtia lähdettiin korjaamaan. Kolmannessa vaiheessa ana-lysointiin uudistusten toimivuutta ja etsittiin jatkokehityskohtia. Työ toteutettiin puolen vuoden aikana tammikuusta kesäkuuhun 2013.

Kartoitusvaiheessa tietoa kerättiin havainnoimalla, haastattelemalla henkilökuntaa, pitämällä kehityskeskusteluita ja tutkimalla yrityksen Great place to work -tutkimuksen tuloksia.

Kolme pääkehityskohdetta olivat varastoinnin kehittäminen, yleisen siisteyden parantami-nen ja prosessin luonti siihen sekä työnkulun kehittäminen, varsinkin materiaaliliikenteen näkökulmasta. Kehittämisen tuloksia tutkittiin erinäisillä mittauksilla, joihin kuuluivat muun muassa kyselytutkimus ja varastointiasteen seuranta.

Työn tuloksia voidaan pitää pääosin onnistuneina. Suuria parannuksia saatiin aikaan niin materiaaliliikenteen kuin varastoinnin puolella, ja tuotannon prosesseja pystyttiin kehittä-mään. Siisteyden puolella jäätiin kuitenkin asetetuista tavoitteista. Työstä kävi ilmi, että monen suuren uudistuksen tekeminen on vaikeaa ja vaatii tarkkaa koordinointia ja suunnittelua. Kyselytutkimuksissa kuitenkin selvisi, että henkilökunta oli tyytyväinen tehtyihin uu-distuksiin ja ne toimivat hyvänä pohjana jatkokehittämiselle

The purpose of this thesis was to improve the processes and storage systems of an offset printing unit with the goal of improving effiency and the working environment. The thesis can be divided into three sections: In the first phase the possible need for improvements and the problems in the workflow were identified. In the second phase these improvements were instigated. The last phase was the analysis and evaluation of these changes and finding additional needs for improvement. The thesis was done during the first six months of 2013.

The information was gathered by using personnel interviews, observing the work process-es, production and analyzing the Great Place to Work-study results.

Three main areas requiring improvements were identified: Storage systems and processes, overall tidiness of the working environment and developing the work process especially the movement of materials between the compartments. The results of these improvements were measured by observing the production, interviewing the employees and changes in the storage levels.

The improvements could be considered mostly successful. In the areas of storage systems and material movement processes between compartments, big improvements were achieved. The effort to improve overall tidiness of the workplace did not achieve the goals that were set. It became clear that making so many big changes to the workplace simultaneously needs good coordination and planning. In the interviews the employees were pleased with the made improvements and they will work as a foundation for future improvements.
