Vaihtoehtolaskelmat päätöksenteon tueksi sukelluskeskus X:lle

Abstract

Tämä opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja toimii Etelä-Suomen alueella toimiva sukellusyritys. Yrityksen nimeä ei julkaista toimeksiantajan toivomuksesta. Alalla on tiukka kilpailu ja vähän muita yrityksiä. Opinnäytetyö tämän lopputuloksena on syntynyt varovaiset arviolaskelmat eri investointivaihtoehdoille.

Työn on tarkoitus auttaa toimeksiantajaa tekemään päätös neljän eri tulevaisuuden vaihtoehdon välillä sekä samalla antaa laskennallista pohjaa päätöksenteolle. Vaihtoeh-dot ovat lyhyesti kerrottuna: uuden liikkeen avaaminen pääkaupunkiseudulle, toiminnan laajennus majoitustoimintaan, uuden veneen osto ja yrityksen myynti.

Tämä työ ei suoraan kerro mitä toimeksiantajan tulisi tehdä vaan kertoo toimeksianta-jalta saaduille eri vaihtoehdoille laskelmat sekä mahdolliset tuotto-odotukset. Toimek-siantajan kanssa aloitimme opinnäytetyön aiheen parissa työskentelyn 2013 tammikuus-sa. Opinnäytetyöhön kului aikaa noin 1,5 vuotta.

Opinnäytetyön liitteinä ovat haastattelukysymykset omistajille. Kysymyksien avulla oli tarkoitus kerätä taustatietoa yrityksestä ja sen toiminnasta.

The employer of the thesis is a diving company that operates in Southern Finland. The company's name is not mentioned as per their request, due to the fact this line of busi-ness is highly competitive, and there are only a few other companies. The outcome of the thesis is a conservative estimate of the calculations concerning different types of investment options.

The purpose of the study is to provide the financial basis for decision making, con-cerning the four major options the company in question is considering. The options the company has to decide on, are as follows: expansion of its business into offering accommodation for customers, the opening of a new store in the Helsinki metropolitan area, investment in a new fleet, or the sale of the company.

The results of the study do not directly indicate what the client should do, rather they present the financial calculations of the various alternatives, and their potential rate of return. The study aims to provide needed financial assistance for the decision-making process.

Together with the client, work began on the thesis topic in January 2013. The thesis project took approximately 1.5 years.

Interviews were created and conducted to gather background information about the company and its operations. Attached to the thesis are the questions that were asked from the owners of the company.
