Automaatioprojektin luovutus logistiikalta testaukseen

Abstract

Opinnäytetyö tehtiin Metso Automationin logistiikkayksikölle ja työ suoritettiin Metso Automationin Tampereen yksikössä. Automaatioprojektissa logistiikkayksikön tehtäviin kuuluu alustaa ja integroida automaatiojärjestelmä testauspaikalle, jotta projektointi voi testata järjestelmän. Työn tarkoituksena oli luoda tarkistuslista, jonka avulla logistiikkayksikkö voi osoittaa työnsä suoritetuksi ja luovuttaa automaatioprojektin projektoinnille tehdastestaukseen. Työssä on käsitelty Metso DNA- automaatiojärjestelmän teollisuustietokoneet ja palvelimet sekä logistiikkayksikön toimintatavat ja tehtävät. Työn teoriaosuuteen käytettiin tietolähteenä Metson omia verkkomateriaaleja. Tarkistuslista toteutettiin haastattelemalla logistiikkayksikön ja projektoinnin työntekijöitä. Tarkistuslistan kehitykseen hyödynnettiin myös kirjoittajan omaa 4 kuukauden mittaista työkokemusta logistiikkayksiköstä kesältä 2013.

Työn tuloksena muodostui tarkistuslista kolmelle eri automaatiolinjalle DCS, PIQ ja Marine. Tarkistuslistat määriteltiin linjojen omien erityisvaatimusten mukaisiksi. Tarkistuslistojen tueksi luotiin määrittelyohje, josta käy ilmi tarkistuslistan eri termien tarkoitus. Tarkistuslistat on toteutettu Excel-ohjelmistolla. Työn selvityksessä on käsitelty myös logistiikkayksikön ja projektoinnin välisiä ongelmia, jotka tulivat esiin tarkistuslistaa luotaessa.

Tarkistuslistalle on selvä tarve logistiikkayksikössä sekä projektoinnissa. Projektointi pystyy tarkistuslistan avulla varmistumaan, että automaatioprojektien ongelmalliset puutteet alustuksessa on korjattu. Tulevaisuuden haasteena on muokata työtapojen siten, että tarkistuslistaa käytetään. Tarkistuslista tulee käyttöön muutamissa kokeiluprojekteissa. Näistä projekteista saatavalla palautteella tarkistuslistaa voidaan vielä muokata ja kehittää mahdollisimman käytännölliseksi.

This thesis was commissioned by the logistics unit of Metso Automation and the work was conducted in the Tampere Unit of Metso Automation. When carrying out an automation project, the logistics unit is responsible for formatting and integrating the automation system in the testing area, so that the project management can accomplish the testing of the system. The purpose of the thesis was to create a checklist that enables the logistics unit to demonstrate their work being completed and to submit the automation project to the project management for factory testing. The work deals with Metso DNA automation system for industrial computers and servers, as well as the policies and tasks of the logistics unit. The theoretical framework took advantage of Metso's own online materials as a data source. The checklist was completed by interviewing the employees in the logistics unit and with projects. The development of the checklist also benefited of the writer's own four-month work experience in the logistics unit in the summer 2013.

The work resulted in checklists for three different automation lines, DCS, PIQ, and marine. The checklists were defined according to the specific requirements of each line. To support the checklists a commentary was created to explain the meanings of the terms. Checklists were carried out in Excel format. The report of the study also deals with the problems that arose between the logistics unit and the project management during the creation of the checklists.

There was a clear need for the checklists in the logistics unit and the project management. With the help of the checklist the project management will be able to make sure that the problematic formatting defects in the automation projects have been amended. The problem in the future may be the change in the working methods in the way that the checklist is being used. The checklist will be used for a number of experimental projects in the future. On the basis of the feedback from these projects, the checklist can be further edited and developed.
