Viivakoodin hyödyntäminen materiaalitoiminnoissa

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli kehittää materiaalien kotiinkutsua siten, että tilaus voidaan tehdä automaattisesti viivakoodia hyödyntäen. Samalla selvitettiin viivakoodin muita käyttömahdollisuuksia varaston materiaalitoiminnoissa. Työ jakaantui käytössä olevien menetelmien ja laitteiden selvittämiseen sekä viivakoodilaitteisiin perustuvan kotiinkutsujärjestelmän suunnitteluun. Työn alkuosassa käsitellään aiheeseen liittyvää teoriaa ja tämän jälkeen esitellään työssä käytetyt menetelmät. Lopuksi esitellään saadut tulokset sekä ajatuksia järjestelmän ja menetelmien kehittämiselle tulevaisuudessa. Viivakoodin käyttökohteet kartoitettiin seuraamalla varaston toimintaa. Viivakoodilaitteiden soveltuvuutta keskeisimpiin työtehtäviin tutkittiin työntekijöitä haastattelemalla. Menetelmiä kehitettiin tutkimalla niitä kohtia materiaalin tilausprosessissa, joiden automatisoinnilla on merkittävin vaikutus työn nopeutumiseen ja virheiden vähenemiseen. Työssä on suunniteltu järjestelmän toteuttamiseen tarvittavat määrittelyt laite- ja järjestelmärajapinnoille. Koska toiminnanohjausjärjestelmään tarvittua muutosta ei ehditty viedä läpi tämän opinnäytetyön valmistumiseen mennessä, järjestelmää ei voitu testata todellisessa ympäristössä. Periaatteiden toteuttamismahdollisuudet on kuitenkin todettu olemassa olevilla laitteilla ja ohjelmistoilla.

The purpose of this final year project was to develop the handling of materials in order to facilitate the automatic ordering process exploiting bar codes. Furthermore, other possible uses of bar codes in storage materials handling were investigated. This study consists of two parts, the investigation of the current methods and devices and the planning of a material recall system. The document begins with the discussion of the theoretical issues related to the topic. The theory is followed by the presentation of the methods used in the study. Finally, the result section contains both the results reached and some ideas for the future development of the system. The possible uses of bar codes were surveyed by observing the current storage system. The applicability and suitability of bar code devices to the most general work tasks were examined by interviewing the employees. Methods were developed by investigating those points of the material ordering process, whose automatization has the greatest influence on speedening up the work and reducing errors. Because the required changes to the operations controlling system were not completed in this final year project, the system could not be tested in a real environment.
