Tiivistelmä
Cross-platform is a method for developing a single software system that is compatible with multiple platforms. This development method in mobile devices has risen up over the past few years. Because of the different platforms in the mobile market and the demand for applications, it is now essential to be able to develop applications that can run on as many platforms as possible.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the modern approaches for mobile application development that can be distributed and installed on multiple mobile platforms using web technologies like CSS, HTML and JavaScript. It has several advantages including lower costs related to development, as it can share a common codebase for the various platforms.
The main aim of this thesis was to study the various methods of mobile application development approaches and evaluate several cross-platform frameworks and tools, and further study the development methods using framework. The results indicate an ease of use of the cross-platform frameworks and shows potential benefits such as less code and time.
