Rintasyöpäpotilaan ohjaus leikkaushaavan kotihoidossa

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme aihe valikoitui omien mielenkiintomme kohteiden perusteella. EBreastII-hanke on aloitettu syysuussa 2020. Projekti on kolmivuotinen, ja sen päätavoite on kehittää diagnostisesti ketjussa olevan rintasyöpäpotilaan sujuvaa kirurgista hoitopolkua pre-, intra-, ja postoperatiivisessa vaiheessa. Opinnäytetyömme opetusmateriaalin tarkoitus on tukea terveydenhuollon opiskelijoiden ja diagnostisessa hoitoketjussa olevien terveydenhuollon ammattilaisten osaamista ohjata rintasyöpäpotilasta leikkaushaavan ja dreenin kotihoidossa.

Potilaan ohjaus on keskeinen osa sairaanhoitajan työtä ja kuuluu osana sairaanhoitajan perusosaamiseen. Aikaisemman tutkimustiedon mukaan hoitoalan ammattilaisten tietotaso on kohdallaan, mutta käytännössä potilaan ohjaamisessa on puutteita.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin toiminnallisen tuotoksena ja sen pohjalle kirjoitettiin kirjallinen raportti tukemaan työtä. Raporttimme teoreettisessa osuudessa hyödynsimme alan kirjallisuutta sekä syöpäpotilaille suunnattuja verkkosivustoja. Työmme teoreettinen viitekehys koostuu tieteellisistä tutkimuksista. Englanninkielinen esitelmä palvelee ensisijaisesti hankkeen tilaajia ja kansaisvälisen tason opiskelijoita. ThingLink esitelmässä käsitellään ohjauksen perusperiaatteita sekä olennaiset asiat osana haavan parantumista ja ohjausta.

Rintasyöpäpotilaan ohjauksessa korostuu terveydenhoidon ammattilaisen taito kohdata potilaita ja ohjata heitä. Syöpäpotilaan kohtaaminen vaatii hyvän vuorovaikutuksen lisäksi aikaa ja hyvää tietotaustaa. Tuotoksen tarkoituksena on tuoda tietoa rintasyövän etiologiasta, eri leikkausmuodoista, haavan ja dreenien hoidosta, sekä mahdollisista haasteista. Keskeinen osa työlle on kuitenkin ytimekäs, mutta mahdollisimman informatiivinen potilasohjaus ja siihen vaikuttavat tekijät. Riittävällä ja selkeällä potilaan ohjauksella ylläpidämme myös potilasturvallisuuden tasoa.

The topic of our thesis was selected based on our own personal and professional interests. The eBreastII project has started in autumn 2020. The project is a three-year project, and its main goal is to develop a smooth surgical treatment path for a breast cancer patient in the chain in the pre, intra- and postoperative phases. The purpose of the teaching material of our thesis is to support the competence of health care students and health care professionals in the diagnostic care chain to guide a breast cancer patient in the home care of surgical wounds and drains.

Patient guidance is a key part of nursing work and is one of the basic nursing skills. According to previous research and studies, the level of knowledge of health care professionals is on point, but in practice there are shortcomings in patient guidance.

The thesis was carried out as a functional final project and a written report was written to support the project. In the theoretical part of our report, we drew on literature in the field as well as websites aimed at cancer patients. The theoretical framework of our work consists of scientific studies. The presentation in English primarily serves the subscribers of the project and nursing and health care students of the international level. The ThingLink presentation presents the basic principles of patient guidance as well as the essentials, as part of wound healing and guidance.

The guidance of a breast cancer patient emphasizes the health care professional's ability to face and guide patients. In addition to good interaction, encountering a cancer patient requires time and a good backround knowledge. The purpose of the output is to provide information on the etiology of breast cancer, different forms of surgery, wound and drainage treatment, and potential challenges. However, a key part of the work is concise, but as informative as possible, patient guidance and the factors affecting it. With sufficient and clear patient guidance, we an calso maintain the level of patient safety.
