Tyks Laboratorioiden näytteenoton vertaisarvioinnin kehittäminen: näytteenottajien kokemus vertaisarvioinnista

Abstract

Tyks Laboratorioiden Kliininen kemia järjestää näytteenottopalveluita Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialueella. Näytteenottopalvelut kuuluvat jokaisen asiakkaan perusterveydenhuoltoon. Jokaisella asiakkaalla on laissa määritelty oikeus hyvään ja laadukkaaseen terveyden- ja sairaanhoitoon. Laboratorion laatua määrittävät lait, säädökset ja standardit. Näitä noudattamalla laboratorio on saanut akkreditoinnin, jolla he haluavat osoittaa pätevyytensä asiakkailleen tuottamalla luotettavia laboratoriopalveluita.

Akkreditoinnin ylläpitämiseksi on määritelty erinäisiä asioita, joista huolehtimalla akkreditointi säilyy. Laboratorio on akkreditoinnin myötä hyväksynyt tuottavansa palvelujaan Standardin SFS-EN ISO 15189 mukaisesti. Standardissa on määritelty työntekijöitä koskevia säädöksiä. Työntekijöiden tulee ylläpitää ammattitaitoaan ja työntekijöiden ammattitaitoa ja pätevyyttä tulee seurata.

Tyks Laboratorioissa on käytössä näytteenoton vertaisarviointi, jossa saman tasoisen ammattitaidon omaava työntekijä arvioi toista arvoistaan. Näytteenoton vertaisarviointi on otettu käyttöön Tyks Laboratorioissa vuonna 2017. Näytteenoton vertaisarviointi suoritetaan vuosittain työntekijöille.

Tyks Laboratorioille tuli tarve selvittää tällä hetkellä käytössä olevasta vertaisarvioinnista näytteenottajien kokemuksia ja miten näytteenottajat kehittäisivät näytteenoton vertaisarviointia. Tässä kehittämistyössä kokemuksia ja kehittämisehdotuksia selvitettiin kyselytutkimuksella, joka teetettiin Webropol-verkkokyselyn avulla.

Kehittämistyön tuotoksena syntyi vertaisarvioinnista kertova luento Tyks Laboratorioiden näytteenottajille. Luennon tarkoituksena on auttaa näytteenottajia ymmärtämään, että miksi vertaisarviointia tehdään ja millainen on hyvä vertaisarviointitilanne.

Tyks Laboratories Clinical Chemistry provides sampling services in the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland. Laboratory sampling services are part of a customer's basic health care. Every customer has a legally defined right to high-quality health and medical care. Laboratory quality is defined by laws, regulations and standards, and by adhering to those Tyks Laboratories have received accreditation as proof of the quality of the services they produce.

To maintain the accreditation, Tyks Laboratories must produce their services in accordance with the standard SFS-EN ISO 15189. The standard includes regulations regarding employees: employees must maintain their professional knowledge and skills, and their performance is to be monitored.

In Tyks Laboratories, peer review of sampling was implemented in 2017 as a way of evaluating employee performance on an annual basis. In the peer review process, an employee's performance is assessed by another employee with similar competencies.

The objective of this development work was to improve the sampling peer review process currently used in Tyks Laboratories based on employees’ experiences and suggestions collected via an anonymous Webropol survey.

As a result of this development work, a lecture on peer review was created for Tyks Laboratories employees. The goal of the lecture is to help employees understand the objective and significance of peer review and to describe the optimal conditions for a successful peer review process.
