Oulun seudun ammattikorkeakoulun puutarhatalouden koulutusohjelman tunnettuus

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tutkia Oulun seudun ammattikorkeakoulun Luonnonvara-alan yksikön puutarhatalouden koulutusohjelman tunnettuutta Pohjois- ja Keski-Suomen alueella. Koulutusohjelman tunnettuutta kartoitettiin kyselyillä vaikutusalueen lukioiden ja toisen asteen puutarhaoppilaitosten oppilaanohjaajille, toisen asteen puutarhaoppilaitosten opiskelijoille sekä puutarha-alan työllistäjille.

Opiskelijoille ja oppilaanohjaajille suunnatut kyselyt toteutettiin sähköisesti selaimessa toimivalla Zef ohjelmalla. Työllistäjien kysely puolestaan tehtiin paperisena versiona ja lähetettiin postitse vastaanottajille. Kysymykset olivat muodoltaan joko mielipidettä mittaavia, avoimia- tai vaihtoehtokysymyksiä.

Tutkimustulosten perusteella voidaan sanoa, että puutarhatalouden koulutusohjelman tunnettuus ei ole kovin hyvä kohderyhmien keskuudessa. Tunnettuutta parantamaan olisi ensisijaisen tärkeää lisätä markkinointia. Erityisesti erilaisilla internetsivustoilla mainostaminen voisi saada tietoa etsivän oikealle polulle. Parannusta tiedonpuutteeseen saisi myös eräänlaisen tietopaketin suunnittelu ja jakaminen kohderyhmille.

The main aim for this thesis was to study the imago of Bachelor Program of Horticulture in Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The study was conducted with questionnaires to the second degree students of horticulture, the study advisors of high schools and second degree vocational schools of horticulture and to the employers of horticulture in Northern and Middle Ostrobothnia.

Questionnaires were conducted both electronic and by paper. Questionnaires to the study advisors and students were done with Zef data acquisition program and the questionnaire to the employers with paper format by post. Questions of the questionnaires were opinion measuring, open or optional.

The result of the study was that the awareness and knowledge of Bachelor program of Horticulture isn’t that good amongst the research targets. Increasing and adding marketing is the most important thing to improve the knowledge of the program. Especially marketing the programme in different sorts of internet pages known amongst the target groups is recommended. Improvement to the lack of information could be also solved by creating a sort of information packet and distributing it to the target groups.
